A Touch of Magic and Mystery with a Hint of Christmas

Each year, millions of monarch butterflies migrate from Canada and the US to winter in Mexico’s oyamel fir forests. You can choose to ride a horse or hike to the sanctuary, where you’ll be captivated by the sight of countless butterflies fluttering in the air and resting on the trees. You’ll also have the chance to plant an oyamel tree, the monarchs’ preferred habitat, contributing to their conservation. After lunch and souvenir shopping, travel to Tlalpujahua, a former mining town now renowned for its handcrafted Christmas ornaments. Visit Santa’s House, where talented artisans create stunning decorations with hand-blown glass. Return to Morelia in the evening and enjoy some leisure time.
