• Damascena Ethnographic Complex - “Damascena” Complex opened its doors in 2007 and is already one of the leading tourist destinations in Bulgaria. During the tour, guests will have the opportunity to experience the magic of the rose picking, to follow closely the technology of rose oil production in our modern distillery and to touch the traditions of the ancient production.

Here guests can taste the famous jam of roses, rose honey, rose liqueur and brandy of roses, test various essential oils and learn interesting facts about their application.

Many Bulgarian and foreign tourists visit the complex during the rose picking period in May and June. We have turned the celebration of the Rose Festival in a tradition. Hundreds of tourists visit the complex on the days of the Festival, which takes place every first Saturday and Sunday of June.

The guests of Damascena have the opportunity to walk and relax in the gorgeous gardens of the complex, where they will enjoy the beauty of over 150 types of roses.

The Ethnographic Complex Damascena, a privately held enterprise, stands as the biggest private exporter of rose oil and related products from the Valley of Roses. It’s a distinctive establishment in Bulgaria that successfully marries old customs with the enchanting aesthetics of contemporary rose oil production. The expansive complex comprises a rose-oil manufacturing structure, a park replete with roses, rose fields, an antique theater, a private zoo, an eatery, and a shop selling mementos. Visitors can effortlessly spend an entire day exploring the place.
