Highlight of my trip! - The textile experience at Andean colors was truly the highlight of my time in Cusco. It’s a full cultural immersion that starts at the source — feeding the alpacas — and walks you through every step of the textile process, from preparing the wool to natural dyeing and weaving your own bracelet. Being part of each stage gave me such a deep appreciation for the artistry and tradition behind the textiles.
Paola was incredibly sweet, knowledgeable, and supportive throughout the entire experience. Everyone I encountered — from the driver to the owner — was kind and welcoming. They even helped arrange a private driver last minute, which I highly recommend for a seamless, door-to-door experience from Cusco.
We ended the day with a beautiful Peruvian meal surrounded by absolutely stunning scenery. It was authentic, hands-on, and unforgettable. I would recommend this to anyone visiting Cusco.

best time ever! loved this. MUST DO!! - 10/10!! Of everything we did in Peru, this was my absolute favorite. I enjoyed this activity more than Machu Picchu, Sacred Valley, Moray, and all the other typical main attractions. Miguel and Paulita at Andean Colors were absolutely amazing (driver Juan Carlos was also great). If you’ll be staying in or around Cusco, you MUST make time to do this!
Fantastic lunch, interaction with alpacas llamas goats, stunning views, and full experience of traditional weaving process. Unlike other weaving tours, we actually got to do every single step, and even got to keep the yarn and bracelets we created! Learned so much along the way, since they knew every step of the process in and out.
I wish I hadn’t bought ponchos/capes, hats, gloves, etc in Cusco’s main plaza before this tour, because those items were double the price for half the quality compared to the items at Andean Colors. Plus, it feels better shopping here knowing the proceeds are sustaining a group dedicated to organic, authentic, humane weaving, while simultaneously providing a safe space & income for women.
The activity was well-paced. I’d recommend doing this on your first full day in Cusco, so that you can adjust to the altitude with this calm activity before going hiking.
My friend and I had multiple dietary restrictions (gluten free, no shellfish, no red meat, etc) and Miguel did a great job of taking the initiative to reach out first to inquire about restrictions. He cooked up a fantastic meal! Bonus - they take credit card and have a bathroom.
This activity also is great for anyone who doesn’t speak spanish. My friend and I spoke very minimal spanish, and had no problems at all, especially since Miguel spoke fluent English and spanish.
Other tour companies for other activities we did weren’t really good at communicating ahead of time (eg planing transit, logistics, answering agenda questions) but Andean Colors was the opposite. Miguel reached out to us moments after we booked and was super responsive. Really easy to book transportation through him.

Peaceful learning experience, a feast for the eyes and soul - A beautiful experience learning about cleaning, dying and threading wool. What stood out the most was the stunning views of the countryside and the kind hearted Paulita! It was just me there and no other tourists so I felt personally taken care of. Paulita was patient and warm as she taught me the process of creating textiles. I got to walk a curious alpaca Tomas and had a nice lunch at the end. Miguel was kind enough to arrange a taxi. It was 80US for the hour drive round trip.

A Wonderful Experience - First of all ...5 stars is not enough to give this experience. I went into this booking with low expectations, but hopeful. I was expecting something that nice but minimal. I am very happy to say - that is not what we experienced. From the second we arrived, we were transported into a different world. Our guide, Miguel was amazing. We were busy engaging in hands on experiences immediately - from visiting with and feeding the llamas and baby goats to creating our own woven bracelets. The day was full of history, science, color, textures, and culture -all while looking out at the beautiful mountains and listening to the sheep in the pasture below. We weren't just told how the wool was dyed, we actually took part in the dying process. We washed the wool, learned the art of spinning and then patiently guided as we learned to weave the same way people have been doing for generations in this region. After a full experience, we were taken inside for a warm and delicious meal. Our guide, Miguel, sat with us and shared the table while we learned more about the area. I never felt like a tourist - but instead felt like we were being immersed and learning a true craft.
Every once in a while, you experience something when traveling that makes it to your Top 10 list. This was one of those experiences for us. If I return to Cusco again, I will definitely be visiting this place.

Great, unusual activity to do from Cusco. - We arranged transport with the tourguide beforehand and extended our tour by adding Maras and Moray - well worth it if you have the time but it is a long way to go (1.5hrs+). The driver was friendly and drove very safely.
The workshop itself was a weird and wonderful explanation of the process from animal fibre to finished product, and afterwards we felt we appreciated the manual process of this so much more. The guides were patient, friendly and helpful. We particularly enjoyed walking with the llamas. Lunch was a lovely soup and a basic main, definitely nice but not as spectacular as other reviews had made out.

Exceptional cultural experience in the Sacred Valley - If you want a rich cultural experience in the Sacred Valley, this is it! Tour guide, Nayda takes you on a ride through the Sacred Valley, complete with picture stops. On arrival you will meet sweet Peruvian ladies that don't speak Spanish, just their native language. They go through the complete process of dying (with natural products), spinning, and then weaving the alpaca wool. You get to do the whole process. A delicious snack of fruits, and then a complete lunch are included. Can't rate this high enough!

An incredible experience of connection with Peruvian textile culture - Through this experience, I was able to know the entire textile process: from the dying and washing of wool, through the spinning process to the principles of weaving — in addition to feeding the alpacas and lamas and walking with one of them. The view of the place is beautiful, and it really is a experience that allows us to disconnect and live more of the present. Thank you very much to Paulita, who taught me so much and gave me this incredible experience, and to the whole team at Andes Colors for the warm welcome. ❤️

INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!!!! - This was THE MOST INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE. First - the tiny cooperative is nestled at the edge of a village and overlooks the Andean mountains - the views were spectacular. Our teachers - Miguel and Paulita - were absolutely amazing .. kind, funny, patient (with me when I was getting confused with my weaving) and they took us through the whole process and involved us in each step - start to finish. It was INCREDIBLE. We also got to take the llamas for a walk and hear the stories of how this coop was founded by a very courageous local woman. It feels good to know that part of our money goes to help these women in need. I honestly can’t stop talking about it.. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND- it was THE HIGHLIGHT of my trip!!!!!!
