DAY 1: CUSCO SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS - AGUAS CALIENTES (MACHUPICCHU)

Sacred Valley - • The tour of the Sacred Valley begins at 8:00 am with a hotel pick-up. After a 1.5-hour drive, we will arrive at the Pisaq ruins for an approximately 1-hour guided tour.
• Continuing along the Willka Mayu River, also known as the Sacred River, we will reach Urubamba, the capital of the Sacred Valley, where a buffet lunch featuring traditional Andean cuisine awaits.
• Post-lunch, a 30-minute drive will take us to Ollantaytambo, where we will explore the archaeological site with a 1-hour guided tour, focusing on the Temple of the Sun, the Intihuatana, the Princess Baths, and the Andean terraces.
• After the Ollantaytambo tour, we will proceed to the train station to board the train to Aguas Calientes, where we will spend the night in preparation for the next day’s visit to Machu Picchu. (In the evening, the guide will visit the hotel to provide all necessary details for your Machu Picchu visit.)

DAY 2: MACHUPICCHU - CUSCO

Machu Picchu - Early in the morning, we will take the bus to the Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu, a 30-minute journey where the guide will be waiting.
• Upon arrival at the Machu Picchu citadel, entry tickets will be presented, and a 2.5-hour guided tour will commence, offering detailed information about Machu Picchu, followed by some free time.
• Afterwards, we will return to Aguas Calientes for lunch.
• Post-lunch, we will head to the train station to board the train back to Ollantaytambo.
• At the Ollantaytambo station, a representative from Chullos Travel Peru will greet you with a sign displaying your names and will arrange transportation back to Cusco, ensuring a safe return to your hotel.

The Sacred Valley of the Incas is the most popular route in Peru. Since it was a crucial area for the Inca empire and that functioned as an agricultural, spiritual and political center. During the tour we will appreciate beautiful landscapes and Inca and Pre-Inca archaeological sites, in the afternoon we will take the train from ollantaytambo to aguas calientes. Note: if you are already in the city of Cusco it is recommended to make this tour of the Sacred Valley of the Incas to contribute to its acclimatization since it is at a lower altitude.
