Cusco – KM 82- Llulluchapampa

Breakfast is enjoyed in Ollantaytambo.
A briefing is held at the trailhead (2,750 m) before starting the hike, which includes visits to the archaeological sites of Wilkarakay and Llactapata. The journey continues through the Cusichaka River Canyon, offering views of Veronica Mountain (5,850 m).
Lunch is served in Wayllabamba.
The hike proceeds along the trail, crossing the Cusichaka River and exploring Incan terraces. The path leads through the village of Huayllabamba and ascends through Yuncachimpa and Corralpunku, with vistas of snow-capped peaks.
The day concludes at the Lluchapampa campsite (3,850 m), where nighttime temperatures are around 7-8°C.
Afternoon tea and dinner are provided.
Llulluchapampa - Chaquicocha
Peru - The day begins with breakfast before embarking on the challenging hike to the first and highest pass, Warmiwañusca (Dead Woman’s Pass) at 4,215 m (13,910 ft). The trail then descends to Pacasmayo Valley at 3,300 m (10,826 ft).
Lunch is enjoyed in Pacasmayo, followed by a hike to the Inca Ruins of Runkuracay, and then onward to the second pass at 3,960 m (12,949 ft). The route follows the Royal Inca Highway down to the Inca Ruins of Sayacmarca, passing by Lake Yanacocha.
Camping takes place at Ch’aquicocha, where tea time with snacks and dinner are served.
Chaquicocha - Phuyupatamarca
Machu Picchu - After breakfast, the hike continues through lush subtropical vegetation to the archaeological site of Phuyupatamarca.
The Inca ruins of Phuyupatamarca (3,600 m / 11,800 ft) are visited, followed by a descent down a steep stone stairway to the campsite at Wiñaywayna (2,700 m), passing through a cloud forest with opportunities to spot orchids and birds.
Lunch is served at the campsite, followed by a guided tour of the Wiñaywayna archaeological site. The day ends with tea time and snacks before dinner at the campsite (2,650 m / 8,700 ft).
Machu Picchu
Santuario Historico de Machu Picchu - An early start is made to journey to Machu Picchu, walking towards the Sun Gate for a breathtaking view of the sunrise over the Urubamba River. The ancient site is entered early to capture stunning photos and explore the intriguing Inca ruins.
In the afternoon, there is an opportunity to meet for those interested in visiting Machu Picchu Town, enjoying lunch, or relaxing at the hot springs.
In the evening, a scenic tourist train returns to Ollantaytambo, followed by a bus transfer for the final journey back to Cusco.
