Pacaya Samiria National Reserve - Day 1
8:00 AM Arrival at the airport or hotel, followed by a road trip from Iquitos to Nauta in a private car, lasting about 1 hour and 30 minutes. We will then board the slow motorboat (Pamacari) to sail along the Marañón River for approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes, reaching the Pv1 checkpoint of the PACAYA SAMIRIA NATIONAL RESERVE.
We will continue boating for another 30 minutes to reach the community of Buenos Aires. Along the way, we will observe the riverbank’s flora and fauna, including various birds, particularly herons.
Lunch
In the afternoon, we will navigate the Yanayacu Pucate basin to admire the gray and pink dolphins and various birds such as toucans, macaws, gulls, kingfishers, and camungos. We will return to the peasant house, and at night, we will embark on a nocturnal hike to observe the nighttime wildlife, including tarantulas, snakes, and night monkeys.

Pacaya Samiria National Reserve - Day 2
Before breakfast, we will go canoeing on the Huayllas River to spot the famous sloths and prehistoric birds (shanshos).
Breakfast and return.
Preparation and departure to the campsite, where we will sail by motorboat for approximately 1 hour to reach the Alban ravine (a strategic point). We will then trek through the jungle, where the guide will explain the medicinal plants (cat’s claw, dragon’s blood, grapes, among others) and their properties. We will also learn about the lifestyle of the local people. During the walk, we will see giant trees such as ceiba, capiruri, and cedar. Lunch.
At night, we will canoe to search for alligators in their natural habitat. Dinner and rest.
Return to the City of Nauta
Pacaya Samiria National Reserve - Day 3
5:30 AM We will rise early to enjoy the first rays of the sun and listen to the songs of birds and howler monkeys.
Breakfast
We will engage in artisanal fishing using a peasant rod, arrow, or machete, where various fish such as piranhas, badre, tucunaré, or catfish can be caught.
Lunch
Return to the Buenos Aires hamlet, with an optional visit to the locals of Buenos Aires to learn about their customs, culture, and way of life. Lunch and return to the city of Nauta – Iquitos – hotel or airport.
