Amazing, safe, memorable trip into the Amazon - Ruth was very warm and accommodating - we had an early flight on the last day of the trip, and she arranged our transport to the airport and met us there with our luggage. She also took great care to provide meals accommodating my friend’s celiac disease. She answered all of our questions and adapted the trip to suit our needs and ensure our comfort. Everything was taken care of for us. The tour itself was an unforgettable experience. We camped the first night - it was truly a unique and thrilling experience to wake up in a tent in the Amazon to the sound of howler monkeys. The scenery and local fauna that we saw from the boat was beautiful. We went out on a canoe both in the early morning and at night to see monkeys and sloths. Our tour guide, Roger, was wonderful - very personable and knowledgeable. He taught us a lot about various trees, insects, animals, etc. that we encountered and also was able to share some cultural knowledge about local groups, which definitely enriched the experience for me. I also felt completely safe the entire time. This was definitely one of the highlights of my trip to Peru and I’d absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a little adventure and to do something that feels a little less touristy and more personable.

A safe tour - It was the first time I'd ever been alone, so I was a little nervous. Ruth picked me up at the airport and cared for my safety at all times. The expedition was a whole new experience: the landscapes were beautiful, and both the guide and the rider not only answered all my questions, but also helped me take pictures. Many thanks to Ruth, Rogelio, Roman and Santiago for providing me with such a good experience inside the reserve. I would always love to come across people who offer authentic service and really care about your wellbeing. I traveled in times of increasing, but I would love to return in times of vacancy, and would certainly contact Ruth again. I definitely recommend it! :)

The best experience with Ruth, Roger and Roman - We hired Ruth because we thought she was sincere and understood what we needed to do: A natural experience without luxuries or animals in captivity. Roger was our guide and we were a biker in Roman. The best team of people to make the adventure. We go into the jungle by boat and tent. They cooked us every day super rich, taught us the mysteries of the jungle. We walk and sail into the night. We ate every day home-cooked food prepared by them. We were taught animals and plants. They shared some jungle mysteries and took us to see amazing places. We saw a lot of animals because Roger knows where and how to find them. I want to highlight how respectful and companionable they are. We went with my girlfriend and at no time felt uncomfortable. Attention community lgbtiq+ Ruth is the choice and Roger the best guide.

Great tour!!!! - Daniel was the best tour guide you could have imagined. He was great! He showed us a lot and is a real Jungle pro! Once Jungle, always Jungle. Daniel could be put in the jungle for 1 month and he would survive without any problems. 😂 Thanks for this great experience! Alligator Flo and Anakonda Luca

We came back very satisfied - From the beginning, that is, from the planning of our trip to the end, we had a great rapport with Ruth. Everything was organised perfectly and we had constant contact with Ruth. During the expedition we were looked after by our guides Juan and Daniel. We were very impressed with Juan's knowledge and Daniel's fierceness in finding animals. The guides looked after us and provided many wonderful experiences. We highly recommend the whole Ruth team.

great four day trip ! - I reached out to Ruth last minute about a camping / adventure tour, and she helped set me up with an existing group, purchase clothing needed and get ready for the trip. Roger (mainly spanish but some english) our guide was fantastic and kept cool during heavy rains and other tricky situations. We saw a caiman, snakes, monkeys, tarantulas, sloths, dolphins, piranhas, frogs, butterflies, dragonflies, and lots of birds. Bring bug spray, snacks, wipes, and a light towel, it’ll be damp/mucky in the forest but otherwise a great time!

Incredible Experience with Ruth Amazon Expeditions - Our experience with Ruth Amazon Expeditions was incredible. We purchased a three day expedition in the heart of the Pacaya-Samiria Reserve in the Peruvian Amazon Rainforest. The expedition was an incredible experience with beauriful views, excellent guides, surprisingly good food considering us being out in the middle of nowhere, and we felt well cared for. To start with, Ruth is an incredibly friendly lady and we didn't feel pressured to make a purchase of a tour with her like all the other agencies in Iquitos. She was honest and open about what we can expect and what we could potentially see. She was the only one that offered an expedition into the national park at a reasonable price and she was also the only one that didn't tell us whatever we wanted to hear just so we would purchase the tour. The experience in the Amazon was incredible. We got to see macau's, grey and pink dolphins, squirrel monkeys, parrots and parakeets, tarantulas and other massive spiders, fire ants and bullet ants, massive caymans, huge snakes, and much more. Of course there was more stuff we wanted to see, but the reality is it is all up to chance and our guides were the reason that we saw as much as we did. The peace and  tranquillity of the experience was incredible as well full of breath taking views without any connection to civilization to interrupt it. The guides on the tour were incredible and friendly. They are passionate about their jobs and love sharing their passions with others. We felt super comfortable under their care and were well taken care of. The guides made every attempt to maximize the time we had in the jungle while still being considerate to us about the challenging nature of the expedition and didn't push us too much. They were also honest and upfront when necessary about the dangers that we might face at different times along the journey. The experience was incredible with Ruth, you could not choose a better company to go with. The tour is well priced and you get a lot for what you pay for. The guides cared alot about making sure the experience was amazing. The one thing that I will say is that you should do your research about what you are getting yourself into. The Amazon can be a ruthless and scary place, and it's important that you are aware of the dangers before going out. Make sure you have the necessary vaccinations and gear before going then purchase a tour with Ruth, and your experience in the Peruvian Amazon will be incredible.

Best ever jungle experience - Best jungle experience ever with our guide Roger! We've been on a few jungle trips now, and this was by far the best for a few reasons. 1) Our really experienced and knowledgeable guide Roger, who, with our boatman, didn't tire of working throughout the trip to give us an amazing experience. In some places we have been, there have been 2-3 hours of activity a day - this is definitely not the case with Ruth's team, where we had 12-15 hours a day of activities each day. He knew so much about the flaura and fauna and the history of the region - really couldn't recommend him highly enough. 2) Pristine nature. Going deep into Pacaya Samiria, we only saw other tourists once or twice during our trip and saw loads of wildlife. This included grey and pink river dolphins, a sloth, tarantulas, an anaconda, an anteater, macaws, and loads and loads of monkeys - howler, squirrel and tamarind to name a few. 3) Integration with the locals. Ruth's firm is locally owned, our guide was from Iquitos, and the tours work with one of the few campesino settlements in the reserve to bring in income. The settlement was gorgeous and felt very authentic - nothing like the fake "tribes" you hear about. Book it! We went for 5 days, I would definitely suggest at least 3 and more if you can.
