Day 1

Pacaya Samiria National Reserve - Pick-up and transfer to Nauta city.

Begin the journey along one of the main tributaries of the world’s largest river, the Marañón River, aboard comfortable and secure traditional boats. This trip along the Marañón River offers a stunning view where the river majestically winds through the lush jungle, with an approximate travel time of 3 hours. During the trip, there is a chance to see pink and grey dolphins (“bufeos”) and various bird species.

Pacaya Samiria National Reserve - Lunch on board.

Arrive at the Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve, where entry passes for the reserve will be collected.

Pacaya Samiria National Reserve - BASE CAMP: BUENOS AIRES Upon reaching the camp, a brief explanation of the sustainability rules governing the camp and its surroundings will be provided, enhancing the understanding of how to enjoy the stay in the NATIONAL RESERVE.

Pacaya Samiria National Reserve - NIGHT EXCURSION: Explore the lush jungle to observe various species of insects, tarantulas, frogs, scorpions, monkeys, and nocturnal birds.

Day 2

Pacaya Samiria National Reserve - AMAZONIAN SUNRISE: Observe exotic birds during the early morning hours, the perfect time to see many bird species feeding along the riverbanks, and witness the majestic sunrise marking a new day in the national reserve.

Pacaya Samiria National Reserve - PIRANHA FISHING: Prepare for the Artisanal Fishing tour. The guide will demonstrate local techniques for catching piranhas or other species using materials that jungle inhabitants use for subsistence. (Taste what is caught.)

Pacaya Samiria National Reserve - SWIM IN THE MARAÑÓN RIVER: After enjoying the rich wildlife within the reserve, prepare to head to the refreshing waters of the Marañón River and swim near the pink dolphins.

• Lunch.

Pacaya Samiria National Reserve - BOTANICAL WALK: A walk to learn about the main medicinal trees and plants found in the Amazon, many with healing properties and others with mystical attributes. The guide will explain each one along the way.

Pacaya Samiria National Reserve - WILDLIFE SIGHTING: Observe even more diverse wildlife, such as macaws, paucares, kingfishers, and other bird species of the reserve.

• Dinner.

Pacaya Samiria National Reserve - NIGHT NAVIGATION: Navigate the Pucate River by canoe to search for caimans, observing and learning about their role in nature. Witness fireflies and enjoy the nocturnal sounds of the Amazon jungle.

• Overnight stay at the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve.

Day 3

Pacaya Samiria National Reserve - Breakfast.

• Return to the base camp in the “Buenos Aires” community.

Pacaya Samiria National Reserve - CRAFT FAIR: Attend a brief craft fair.

Pacaya Samiria National Reserve - Lunch.

• Return to the town of Nauta and back to Iquitos.

Iquitos - Return to Nauta town and return to Iquitos.
