Isle of Monkeys
Madre de Dios Region - Guests will be greeted at the airport or bus station and transported to the Monte Amazónico Lodge office for a briefing on the tour. A transfer to the port will follow, where a one-hour boat ride will take guests to the hostel. Upon arrival, a welcome meeting will be held, featuring a refreshing fruit juice…

Isla de los Monos - After lunch, guests will visit the “Island of Monkeys,” located across the Madre de Dios River from the hostel. This island is home to various monkey species, including the brown capuchin, squirrel monkey, marmoset, and white capuchin. After exploring the island, guests will return to the hostel.
Rio Madre De Dios - In the evening, guests will embark on an excursion to spot alligators, which are often found along the banks of the Madre de Dios River. A flashlight will be necessary for this adventure. There is also a chance to see the capybara, the world’s largest rodent, weighing up to 60 kilos, and a fascinating member of the Peruvian Cuy family. Guests will return to the hostel for dinner and an overnight stay.
Tambopata National Reserve
Lago Sandoval - Following an early breakfast, guests will take a short boat ride to the entrance of Lake Sandoval. A 3-kilometer (approximately 2 miles) walk will lead to Lake Sandoval, known for its piranha habitat. After the enjoyable hike, the guide will take guests on a rowing boat to navigate the lake, where they can observe various species of birds, monkeys, giant otters, and alligators. Guests will return to the hostel for lunch.
Collpa of Parrots
Puerto Maldonado - On the third day, early in the morning, guests will take a boat to visit the Collpa de Parrotes, where different species of parrots descend to consume the special clay essential for their metabolism. Afterward, guests will enjoy breakfast and return to the city.
