DAY 01: CUSCO - SORAYPAMPA – HUMANTAY LAKE – SALKANTAY PAMPA

DAY 01: CUSCO - SORAYPAMPA – HUMANTAY LAKE – SALKANTAY PAMPA
Salkantay Trail - The adventure begins with the collection of our guests between 4:00 and 4:45 am. We will travel for 2 hours to the district of Mollepata. Along the way, we will pass through the towns of Izcuchaca and Limatambo, arriving in Mollepata at approximately 6:30 am, where we will have our first breakfast. We will then continue for another hour to Soraypampa, where we will start our first day of hiking towards Humantay Lake. Here, we will admire the beautiful glacier and the lake that reflects this stunning place. Afterwards, we will return to Soraypampa and continue walking for another hour to our camp RUMI WASI (Salkantay Pampa), where we will have a restorative lunch and then a nap. In the afternoon, guests can explore the area, which is surrounded by streams, and appreciate the impressive Salkantay snow-capped mountain from different angles. We will then have tea time and dinner, spending the night in our Andean huts.
SALKANTAY PAMPA – SALKANTAY PASS - HUAYRACMACHAY – CHAWLLAY.
Salkantay Trail - Early in the morning, around 6:00 am, our cooks will wake you up with a cup of coca tea. After preparing your belongings and having breakfast, we will start our second day of hiking at 7:00 am to the Salkantay Pass (4620m), the highest point on the route, where you will participate in a small coca leaf ceremony. Then, you will descend for 2 hours to Wayracmachay, where you will have lunch, followed by a 3-hour walk to our Chawllay camp. Here, you will have tea time, dinner, and participate in a bonfire in honor of life (Andean tales), resting in the comfort of our Andean huts.
CHAWLLAY - LA PLAYA – COCHAPAMPA - COCALMAYO.
Salkantay Trail - At 5:30 am, our cooks will wake you up with a cup of coca tea. After packing your belongings and having breakfast, the third day of hiking will begin at 6:30 am from Chawllay towards our Mayta Cápac camp. The descent will take approximately 6 hours and will be surrounded by fruit trees, coca, and cacao plantations. Upon arrival at our camp, our cooks will be waiting with a restorative lunch. After a nap, you will participate in the COFFEE TOUR. In the afternoon, we will visit the Cocalmayo hot springs and finally return to our camp for dinner and rest.
COCHAPAMPA – LLACTAPATA – HYDROELECTRIC - AGUAS CALIENTES
Aguas Calientes - Early the next day at 6:00 am, our cooks will wake you up with a cup of coca tea. After breakfast, at 7:00 am, the hike will begin. We will ascend an Inca trail to Llactapata for 3 hours, where you will enjoy a magnificent view of Machu Picchu and the mountains (APUS). Then, we will descend for 2 hours to the Hydroelectric station for lunch, followed by a 3-hour walk to Aguas Calientes, where our hotel is located. Here, you can take a shower and explore the town. Dinner is scheduled for 7:00 pm at a restaurant in Aguas Calientes. After dinner, we will begin preparations to visit the impressive lost city of the Incas (Machu Picchu).
MACHU PICCHU
Machu Picchu - Very early in the morning at 4:00 am, breakfast or a box breakfast will be provided. Then, we will head to Machu Picchu. You can choose to walk or take a bus, depending on your physical condition. The bus ride takes 25 minutes, but tickets must be purchased in Aguas Calientes the night before, while walking takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes. Either option is good, as the goal is to arrive by 6:00 am and be among the first groups to visit Machu Picchu. Once there, you will have a guided tour for approximately 2 hours. After exploring the much-anticipated lost city of the Incas, you have the option to visit Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain. Passengers returning by bus must be at the Hydroelectric station by 3:00 pm at the latest to be brought back to Cusco City in 6 hours. Passengers returning by train must be at the station 30 minutes before their train’s departure. In Ollantaytambo, our transport will be waiting to bring you to Cusco City.
