Dave was a great driver,... - Dave was a great driver, even with the several animal crossings and sightings we had of both wild horses and camels. Jessica was a fantastic guide, super knowledgeable about the land and its history, and super mindful of the groups safety and abilities. Kings Canyon was spectacular. Would recommend to anyone and would definitely do it again.

Excellent day trip experience! - We went in the 2nd week of June so a 4.30am start. The AAT bus ride was comfortable with a chance to snooze before sunrise & our breakfast stop. Good choices for breakfast - cereal, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, hash browns, baked beans, tomatoes, tea & coffee. There is souvenir shop also with a big range to choose from. Hayley & Jim were great guides/driver, with a wealth of knowledge & a good sense of humour which made the trip more enjoyable. We did the full 3 hr rim walk & were required to take 2 litres of water per person for this time of year. The 500 rock steps up to the rim are challenging but they break it up into 3 sections with 2 rest stops on the way up & 1 at the top. The rim walk is rocky & varies between easier sections & others that are more challenging with steep stairs or inclines & declines. Safety is first with Hayley ensuring we were all keeping together, at times staying a bit of distance from the person in front & staying at least 2 metres from the edge. Our group of 16 were at a similar pace so there was plenty of time to stop & take photos & spend time at The Garden Of Eden which was really special. Lunch at Kings Canyon Resort pub was enjoyable with a substantial menu & great food. The 2 short stops on the way back to Yulara were interesting & broke up the trip back. We are not hikers but walk regularly & did this walk based on other reviews which were pretty accurate. We thoroughly enjoyed it & highly recommend the Kings Canyon day trip.

Excellent tour, with... - Excellent tour, with guide Hayley and driver/guide Con, both extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended, apart perhaps from the 4.30 start of the tour, making the previous night dinner alcohol free! Great tour, great landscape, tons of information and great stories. Hayley very entertaining!

- An early start but well worth it when you get to see the sunrise. Breakfast is a true 'outback' experience and a chance to get to know your fellow travelers! I did the Canyon walk and my travel companion did the Rim walk and we were both happy with our choices. The Canyon walk gave cool relief from the sun, and we saw many species of tree and shrub, as well as hearing stories of local indigenous groups. The Canyon walk group was then taken to the Kings Canyon Resort for lunch (at our own expense) while our driver returned to the canyon for the Rim walkers. The dining area and bar were spacious, with air conditioning and a decent selection on the menu. Cool drinks were welcome after the heat, and I sat with the Canyon walkers as we shared our tales of various travels and our time in Yulara. The bus ride back to Ayers Rock Resort was broken up by a visit to Curtin Springs cattle station. A true 'Aussie ocker' behind the counter served us ice cream and some had a beer. We learned the history of the station as we drove away, and also were lucky enough to see some wild camels and wild brumbies. Another stop was to see a salt lake - so vast and flat among the red desert sand. Mitch & Gary our guides were really great - full of local knowledge and entertaining stories. It is a long day excursion and we were tired upon return to our hotel, but it was a great day out.

Amazing landscapes and... - Amazing landscapes and really cool hike! However, there were far too many people that booked this tour. Some parts of the hike were challenging and the whole group was constantly delayed waiting for others, something that would be understandable if it wasn’t for the high price of the excursion. Also being such a big group means that you loose the peace of hiking in the nature and many of your pictures will be full of people in the background. Anyway, if you can’t rent a car it’s still worth it because the place is incredible and the guides give lots of comments and explanations!

Kings Canton AAT day tour. - Great trip. The rim walk is quite difficult in places. The pace of the tour is quite fast so if you are slower you do not get much time to rest. Guides were amazing Mitch, Jessica and driver/guide Beatrice. We spent most of the morning sleeping after leaving at 4.30am. Breakfast at Kings Creek Station was delicious and the souvenir shop there is better than any at Uluru. We had the chance to have lunch and a drink at the Kings Canyon Resort which was very impressive. On the way home we stopped to see Mr Connor and then at Curtain Springs. Mitch was a wealth of knowledge about the area so filled in a lot of time. It is a long day but it went really quickly. Great tour, scenery was amazing.

Too rushed to enjoy - Far too rushed to enjoy the hike. Kept getting prodded like cattle and urged to not take photos. Tour guide sped up ahead and didn't even wait for group to gather before starting to talk. I'd recommend finding a tour that gives you at least 4 hours, or visiting on your own. We spent 3 hours for the hike, and 2 hours for breakfast/lunch. Additionally, little information was given on the tour itself. Guides just herded us through the rim walk.
