Obrancov mieru 1264/27 - The tour will start in the cellar, where our wines age. The guests will have here an opportunity get to know our “MERLAJ” winery, test the wine samples from the traditional local varieties and they will learn about their specifics. They will be also offered a snack typically served with wines. We will show and explain the process of winemaking and present our little winery.
Afterwards we will move by car to some significant historical places in Pezinok connected with the viticulture and the history of the town.
Our tour will be finishing in our vineyards, where the guests will learn about the wine-growing and we will show them the specifics of our grape varieties. They can also enjoy a peaceful atmosphere of nature with a spectacular view of the Little Carpathians.
For abstainers, drivers and children under 18 we have prepared our natural grape juice.

Pezinok is located 19 kilometers from Bratislava. The best way for transport is by train and it takes 16 minutes. Our meeting point in Pezinok is 5 minutes of walking from the Pezinok train station.

Wonderful experience - We had an amazing time at the wine tasting at Merlaj. Even though we arrived an hour late due to traffic, they still took the time to give us a warm welcome, a detailed explanation, and a personal tour.
Besides the delicious wines, we were treated to tasty bites such as cheese, olives, and a homemade dip. During the tour, we even got a piece of freshly baked cake, and at the end we were allowed to take one of the wines we had tasted home with us.
The whole experience at Merlaj was informative, cosy, and absolutely delicious. Highly recommended for anyone who loves good wine, great food and genuine hospitality! 🍷

Pezinok... what a treasure and experience! - Wonderful! Miriam and Roman were amazing hosts of this experience in Pezinok and really made our Bratislava stop-over memorable. Roman was very responsive and accommodating with our weather delays, which we appreciated, and Miriam was an incredible tour guide from start to finish. She shared her knowledge of the traditional Slovak wine production their family uses while we tasted amazing varietals. She also gave us a tour around Pezinok and even their vineyards! Although the weather didn't fully cooperate, Miriam absolutely made the best of it for us and we couldn't have asked for better conversation, wine, or snacks. 100% recommend for any size group or season!

Wonderful experience - The short review: We ended up buying 10 bottles of wine. The experience was amazing.
The longer review: if you want a personal and memorable experience - you have to go on the Winetour with MERLAJ.
Don’t be confused when you arrive in the middle of a suburban street, and nothing looks like a wine yard. Everything will change when the host comes. He will show you the wineyards and tell you the story of a family wine-company, the towns history and most important he will present you with tasty wines.
It is important to say: this isn’t a wine tour if you want to wear a suit and spit out your wine after you’ve tasted it. This is a wine tour where you get to drink wine and talk about the differences tastes in the wine (even if you don’t know anything about wine like me).
Basically this is a company with a passion for wine, and they just want to share that passion with you. And they do it with personality and kindness.
Last but not least: normally I don’t write reviews on TripAdvisor, but I HAD TO do it with this experience. The family behind MERLAJ has done such an amazing job with this company, and I hope that whoever reads this will find the wine tasting experience just as personal and lovely as we did.
