- Vung Tau Beach - Vung Tau boasts four renowned beaches: Front Beach, Back Beach, Pineapple Beach, and Paradise Beach. Front Beach (Bãi Trước) is the most frequented, which might be a reason for some to avoid it. Besides the crowds, the water is somewhat polluted and doesn’t provide the ideal beach experience. However, visitors can still savor fresh seafood at numerous stalls and restaurants, known for serving some of the tastiest seafood in southern Vietnam. For a superior beach experience, consider visiting one of the other three beaches. Back Beach (Bãi Sau) is significantly cleaner and ideal for surfing. With excellent wind swells, kitesurfing shops have emerged over the years, offering rentals and lessons for all skill levels.
- White Palace - Bach Dinh, or the White Palace of Vung Tau City, is situated at 4 Tran Phu Street, on the slope of Big Mountain. Positioned 50 meters above sea level, the White Palace is also known by its French name, La Villa Blanche. Dating back to 1898, it served as a summer retreat for French Governor General Paul Doumer. The palace was named after his beloved daughter. Unfortunately, during its construction, Doumer returned to France and later became the President of France. It wasn’t until 1916 that it was officially used as a holiday retreat for some Indochina-French Governors. Visitors to the White Palace are captivated by its all-white exterior, which is why locals refer to it as “Bach Dinh” (“Bach” means white in Vietnamese).
- Christ The King Statue - The Statue of Christ the King is a must-see on Vung Tau day tours. This iconic symbol of Vung Tau is visible from all directions in the city. However, the best view is from the top of Little Mountain, where visitors can admire the statue. Climbing the observatory within the statue offers a panoramic view of the city and the surrounding sea. The statue was constructed in the early 1970s but wasn’t completed until over 20 years later. Its arms span 18 meters wide, and it stands 32 meters tall, two meters taller than the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro.
- Thich Ca Phat Dai - Thich Ca Phat Dai (Platform of Shakyamuni Buddha) is a prominent Theravada Buddhist temple in the coastal city of Vung Tau in southern Vietnam. Located northwest of Lớn Mountain, it was constructed between 1961 and 1963. The site covers approximately five hectares, featuring a Zen Buddhist monastery at the base and the Thích Ca Phật Đài at the summit. The Zen monastery is a modest brick temple built by a Vung Tau government official in 1957. In 1961, the Buddhist association organized a renovation of the monastery and decided to construct the Thich Ca Phat Dai further up the mountain. Additional accommodations were built to welcome Buddhist pilgrims visiting the site.
- Chơn Không Monastery - Chon Khong Zen Monastery, located at 36/11 Vi Ba Street, sits at an altitude of 80 meters on the slopes of Big Mountain. It is a spiritual destination not to be missed when visiting Vung Tau. This site is renowned for its serene atmosphere and the impressive giant golden Buddha statue that stands prominently in the heart of the coastal city.
- Ba Ria Vung Tau Provincial Museum - Situated in the center of Bai Truoc at No. 4 Tran Phu, Vung Tau, the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Provincial Museum is a modern architectural marvel. It houses and preserves numerous valuable historical documents, detailing the formation and development of the locality, along with over 28,000 historical, cultural, and artistic artifacts and documents.
- The Whale Temple - Thang Tam Temple is a distinctive spiritual and cultural tourist attraction in Vung Tau city, drawing numerous visitors from around the world to explore and pray. Located on Hoang Hoa Tham Street, Thang Tam Ward, Vung Tau City, this complex includes Thang Tam Temple, Ngu Hanh Temple, and The Whale Temple.
