Phakding - The journey begins with an early morning flight to Lukla, the starting point for all Everest treks. Here, the team gathers and sets off on a trek. The trail gently descends to Cheplung village, offering a view of Mt. Khumbila, a sacred and unclimbed mountain. The trek continues with a gradual descent to Phakding. Overnight stay in Phakding.
Trek to Namche Bazaar.
Namche Bazaar - The trail leads through a pine forest, continuing north up the Benkar valley. After crossing the Dudh Koshi River, the path passes through Chumoa and Monjo villages before reaching the entrance of the Everest National Park. A suspension bridge leads to Jorsale village, and the trail follows the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi rivers. A steep ascent brings us to Namche Bazaar, the largest town in the Everest region. Overnight stay in Namche Bazaar.
Acclimatization Hike Day
Everest View Point - Namche Bazaar, the main town of the Everest or Khumbu region, offers government offices, ATMs, internet cafes, shops, restaurants, and a vibrant market. A hike to Sagarmatha National Park provides a stunning sunrise view over the Himalayas, including Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Kongde. For those interested in a day hike, trekking to Khunde and Khumjung village is an option. The day also includes visits to the Hillary School and a monastery housing a yeti scalp. Overnight stay in Namche Bazaar.
Trek to Tengboche Monastery.
Tengboche Gompa - The trek to Phunki Thanga is easy, followed by an ascent to Tengboche village, home to the renowned Tengboche monastery, the largest in the Everest region. Located within the Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the monastery offers panoramic views of the Himalayas, including Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. The monastery opens at 3:00 pm, allowing visitors to observe a Buddhist religious ceremony. Overnight stay in Tengboche.
Trek to Dingboche.
Dingboche - The trail descends through lush forests of birch, conifer, and rhododendron trees. The trek offers views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. The path leads downhill to Debuche, crosses the Imja River to reach Pangboche, and continues to the Imja Valley and Lobuche River before ascending to Dingboche. This picturesque village features beautiful barley, potato, and buckwheat fields with grazing animals. Overnight stay in Dingboche.
Acclimatization Hike Day
Chukhung - A day in Dingboche aids acclimatization to the high altitude. Instead of resting, a climb up a ridge behind the village reveals six of the world’s tallest peaks, including Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. Cholatse and Taboche peaks are also visible. To the northwest, more Himalayan peaks rise above the Khumbu Khola Valley, with Lobuche West, Lobuche East, and Lhotse being the most prominent. Another ridge location offers views of the Imja Khola Valley and the charming Dingboche village. Overnight stay in Dingboche.
Trek to Lobuche.
Lobuche - The trail ascends Chupki Lhara, a ridge offering spectacular mountain views, and is adorned with prayer flags and stones memorializing climbers who perished on Mt. Everest. As the trail descends to the Khumbu Glacier moraine, several majestic peaks, including Khumbutse, Lingtren, Pumori, and Mahalangur Himal, come into view. Crossing the Khumbu Glacier, Mt. Nuptse is also visible. Overnight stay in Lobuche.
Trek to Everest Base Camp and Back to Gorakshep
Gorakshep - The day involves ascending and descending primarily on a glacier path, with rough terrain and meandering. Upon reaching the base camp, the stunning melt patterns and gently rounded ice towers of the upper Khumbu glacier are a sight to behold. The Everest Base Camp offers breathtaking views of Nuptse, Khumbuste, Lingtren, and Pumori mountains. After enjoying the scenery, the trek returns to Gorak Shep for the night. Overnight stay in Gorak Shep.
Kalapathar Hike and Trek to Pheriche
Helicopter Landing at Kalapathar - An early start is required for the hike to Kala Patthar. The trail is steep, but the pace is comfortable. As the ascent continues, views of Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Changtse mountains emerge. The summit offers an outstanding view of Everest and other mighty Himalayan peaks. After spending time at the summit, the descent to Gorak Shep is easier. Following breakfast at Gorak Shep, the trek descends to Pheriche for the night. Overnight stay in Pheriche.
Trek to Namche
Namche Bazaar - The day involves losing approximately 2,000 feet in elevation, with a trail featuring many ups and downs. The descent passes through hillsides filled with rhododendron and juniper trees and crosses a bridge over the Dudh Koshi River. The path continues rapidly through a pine forest, where mountain goats, pheasants, and other wildlife are commonly seen. The trail reaches Sansa, offering views of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and Nuptse mountains, before winding through a forest to Namche Bazaar. Overnight stay in Namche Bazaar.
Trek to Lukla
Lukla - The trek to Namche Bazaar begins on rocky terrain, mostly downhill along the Dudh Koshi River. The path crosses several suspension bridges and passes by monasteries and villages before reaching Lukla. The remainder of the day is for rest, marking the last day in the mountains. Overnight stay in Lukla.
Flight to Kathmandu
Kathmandu - An early morning flight returns to Kathmandu after the mountain journey. Upon arrival, there is time for rest or souvenir shopping. For those wishing to explore more of Kathmandu, the guides can assist with both shopping and sightseeing. The evening features a farewell dinner to celebrate the successful journey. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.
