- Riverside Thai Cooking Class - The Thai cooking class starts at the local Khao Lak market. Here you will choose the ingredients for your Thai dishes, learn about Thai herbs and spices and catch a glimpse of the daily hustle and bustle of local market life.
It’s time to prepare and cook your dishes. This is where the fun really begins. The cooking chef Apple will teach you how to prepare your ingredients the Thai way. Starting with basic curry pastes and Thai seasonings, then cooking techniques before finally creating your impressive Thai meal.
After learning to cook your Thai food there is one more important step in creating a Thai meal to impress your friends. You need to present it in an appetising manner and you will even learn some simple food carving tricks. Then you all dine together in true Thai style and try all the other delicious dishes the class has cooked. I’m getting hungry just thinking about this.
All the fresh ingredients which are used for the Khao Lak Thai cooking class are sourced locally, fresh from the daily market. You will shop with no-plastic bags. Any left over food waste is turned in compost which is used in the herb garden at Riverside.

Great day together with Apple - We had a great day together with Apple and I can recommend this class! We participated as a family of four, with kids at 7 and 10 years old and Apple made sure that the course was fun for them as well. It was great walking around at the local food market and having Apple explaining everything that we saw. All in all, a good day!

Super rewarding activity - The whole experience was just perfect! DE booking, pick up at the hotel, visit the market very typical and ENriching, the organization of the course itself... I loved the fact that each participant prepares their own recipe, but you can follow the preparation DE all recipes. We learn a lot! Everything was very varied and delicious! Apple is hyper dynamic, smiling and makes us try a lot DE products, herbs, fruits... The place is also superb and its clerks ultra efficient. Really I recommend 200%

- We cooked with Apple at Riverside yesterday. Pick up was seamless and the market visit was very informative. The best fun though was the actual cooking. I’m pretty useless but I got lots of help and managed to deliver a pretty good Massaman Curry! Apple and her assistants guide you really well and make it fun. The recipes are provided so you can do it at home.
At the end we all shared our food so you get a very good lunch included.
Couldn’t recommend any more highly.

Half day trip with market - Very informative and fun. We started the day by heading to a local market to get some of the ingredients and then went on to make our chosen dishes. The preparation and cooking process was very enjoyable. We learn a lot and the dishes were divine! We will be cooking this back at home!

Wonderfull experience - Thank you for the super fun morning . You are a very fine tutor , who talks about ingredients with passion and love and can show you how to put a delicious Thai meal on the table in no time . The setting was beautiful , the service super friendly and so was the company absolutely . If you want to take a real Thai cooking workshop that it definitely here at Appel 🍏

Satay, spring rolls and curry - Our market visit and cooking class with Apple and her team was the highlight of our trip to Khao Lak!
Apple was quick to respond to our query and flexible with booking. The morning flew by with her friendly, knowledgeable and inclusive style. We have a new appreciation for the Thai markets and food after visiting with a local person. Everything we cooked was delicious. We can’t wait to try out the recipes at home.

Culinary experience with learning effect! Appel is a very warm cook! - If you want to get a little insight into Thai cuisine, Apple and your Riverside Thai Cooking Academy are in the right place. Before cooking, we go through a local Thai market and fresh ingredients are still purchased. Here you can buy curry and other spices at a very low price for your home.
Then we cook. When booking the event, you choose a dish, which you then prepare and of course taste. Very delicious!

Amazing afternoon cooking - Apple was amazing she took us around the market told us all about the different ingredients then we went back and cooked our chosen foods. Everything was so organised made it easy to learn and good fun and to top it all the beautiful puppies that came and saw us at the end. I highly recommend Riverside and the lovely Apple

Family cooking experience - Thank you Apple and assistants for such a great experience. The market visit was informative and fun. On arrival at the kitchen we were welcomed and offered free water and coke and allocated to our stations. There were nine people in total and the final menu was extensive with meat, fish and vegan dishes finished off with mango sticky rice. This was so much fun and created a wonderful memory. Thank you Apple you were fantastic.
