Great historical and architectural overview of Philadelphia - This was a fun way to get an overall perspective on downtown Philly. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, particularly about the history, buildings and architecture of Philadelphia. He was also a total hoot!!

HOHO only way to see a City - Well worth the cost. Best way to get acquainted with any city. We rode the whole loop. Then decided where we wanted to get off. The guides were all very good, wish I recalled their names. As an fyi.....you have to go to stop one when you first get on bus. This was near the Liberty Bell/ Liberty Hall. Tickets have to be scanned. Lucky for us that walk was not too far and there was a stop at the end of the day right across from our hotel. Due to govt shutdown, Liberty Bell can only be viewed through the glass . Some other government bldgs were closed as well. Oh well.

Big Bus shows Philadelphia! - We went to visit two of our grandsons in Ocean City, Maryland, in the summer of 2024 where they were working as lifeguards. We took the opportunity to see Philadelphia again and as we usually do, we boarded a multi-stop bus tour. We opted for the Big Bus company with which we often travelled elsewhere in the world. Once again, we did not disappoint because the route of the visit was very pleasant to us. The buses of this firm were clean, well conducted, with good guides. The sound system was functional and allowed a good choice of language. with headphones provided free of charge. The description of the route was interesting and informative. The buses passed with good regularity. The starting point is easy to find near the well-known Independence Hall.

Great way to see the city and learn some fun facts. Probably better on a quieter weekend if possible. Worth experiencing - Instructions could be more precise. Went on Memorial Day weekend and it was crowded. Had to wait at one of the stops for 2 buses until we could get the return trip. On the plus side, the narrator provided some very interesting information about the history of Philadelphia and the driver navigated the streets and traffic expertly.

Unable to go - Due to an issue at home, I had to leave Philadelphia early. It was too late to cancel so I was unable to use my tickets.

Don't trust the information they give you - We tend to use hop-on hop-off bus tours when visiting a new city. So we bought tickets also for bus tour in Philly for 72 dollars. The start was from N 12th Street opposite Reading Terminal Market. The day before I did check the route and also what we should see on the route. Our guide was oldish guy (I don't remember his name) but I do remember what he said, what kind of information he gave us. To my shock and disbelieve I found that we have been told porky pies. For example - famous Clothespin - he said it was surprise for the city which was unveiled in 2000 and cost several millions. Then I found it's not truth, the installation was in 1976. Another example was information about red metal sculpture Iroquois at the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. According our guide after 7/11 each American big city got a few pieces of metal from the terrible attack on the Twin towers and this sculpture is made from them. No is not, I found that the sculptor Mark di Suvero created "Iroquois" between 1983 and 1999 and this large, red steel sculpture was installed in Philadelphia in 2007. That's the reason why I gave only two stars.

Not worth the money - Pick up a map at the visitors center and take the Serta instead. This was a waste of money and not worth the price, even with a TripAdvisor coupon. Open air top is too cold but sitting downstairs means you are looking thru ads on the windows and can’t take photos. Ruth was our tour guide on the second leg. She was the most negative guide we’ve ever heard- complaining about traffic, that things weren’t real, mentioning a building AFTER we passed it and a snarky comment about everything we passed (but not in a joking way). Really a bummer and uncomfortable energy. Two stars since there are two tour companies and a ticket can get you on either bus. Still, they only come every 30 minutes so you spend a lot of time waiting if you get off. Stop 15 at the Rocky steps was just the right amount of time.

Don't hop on at all! - Have used this service in other cities to our satisfaction. This one did not live up to expectations. It was an abbreviated tour at best. It did not take us to many of the stops on the itinerary. There was a 5K race run that Saturday morning and they re-routed the bus another way. We were not told about this upon buying tickets. Big mistake on their part. We waited in traffic for what seemed hours. Even the tour guide upstairs was frustrated by these events. No apologies were issued and no refunds or passes given for an extra day for inconvenience. Shabby, aggravating and boring! We probably could have walked faster and seen more on our own time. FYI - in the future let people know in advance if there is to be a detour and delays. Thanks for nothin'.

Very disappointing!:-( - We bought the big bus tickets before arriving in the United States, taking the formula "unlimited 1 day". Sightseeing bought Big Bus Tour in this city and it is frankly less well organized and equipped: -you have to signal the driver when he arrives at the stop to be sure he stops! - the audio guide version does not work in French, there is just music looping when there is sound... - unable to follow live on the app the location of the buses, it did not work!!

Ugh! Save yourself the frustration and skip it! - SO disappointed in this! We drove almost 7 hours to do some sightseeing in Philly with our adult daughter. I bought Dr these tickets before our trip and followed the directions to pick them up. The address they give you is on the wrong side of a giant building and the building was closed down. Not being from the area we had to keep driving around and saw a guy with an umbrella on the street. He said to come to him. We had to find parking a couple of blocks away and walk over. He scanned our tickets and acted liked we couldn’t use them. Then he walked us over to another umbrella where we were told we had the right thing and could use them. Their website says buses come every 15 minutes. But he let us know they were running about every 25 minutes! We were taken to the side of the road, told to wait there, and a bus would be through to get us in about 30 minutes! They didn’t even apologize for the wait. We were frustrated and starving and decided we could walk the few blocks over to get some food. On the way, we passed the main things we wanted to see! From there we looked at the map and saw we could easily walk to the next place OR wait 25 minutes for a bus to come by so we walked. We only saw one bus all day and never used it once because of the inconvenience. This was a colossal waste of money!
