- Carpenters’ Hall - The venue for the First Continental Congress, marking the colonies’ initial move towards independence. Delegates from twelve colonies convened here in 1774 to discuss their grievances with Britain.
- Second Bank of the United States - Built circa 1824, this is a prime example of Greek Revival architecture. It once served as a bustling financial center for the nation.
- Library Hall - Home to the American Philosophical Society. A carved figure of Benjamin Franklin graces the building’s central façade, a fitting homage to the founder of the oldest learning society in the U.S. This exceptional library houses a world-renowned collection. Reconstructed in 1959.
- Old City Hall - The newly established United States Supreme Court met here when Philadelphia was the temporary capital. President George Washington appointed the first justices. This building, formerly City Hall, circa 1790, hosted the nation’s top legal minds, including Alexander Hamilton.
- Independence Hall - The birthplace of the United States! The U.S. Constitution was crafted here! Huzzah! Independence Hall, dating back to 1733, served as the Pennsylvania State House for over forty years before America declared independence from Britain in 1776. If only the walls could speak.
- Congress Hall - Congress Hall, circa 1789, was the first United States Capitol. It was the meeting place for the federal government from 1790 to 1800.
- Liberty Bell Center - A timeless emblem of American freedom. View this historic bell from the outside and learn about its 274-year legacy. “Proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof!”
- The President’s House - Presidents George Washington and John Adams resided here when Philadelphia was the U.S. capital. Originally a private mansion, circa 1767, hear about the Pennsylvania “royalty” who lived here, the occupation of Philadelphia, and the site’s treasonous activities.

Great Tour! - Wendy was a wonderful guide who did a great job engaging my almost teenagers (who were not otherwise super excited about history). She also I introduced us to the Historical Trading Cards given out by the park rangers. It was a great tour!

Great tour and host - Wendy was our tour guide and she was amazing! She was entertaining and clearly knowledgeable. The tour was a great length and we were able to see all we wanted and some we didn’t even know existed!

Highly recommended tour - We took a tour of Philadelphia’s historic Old City district with our guide Wendy, and it was a fantastic experience. She was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and showed us some of the best spots in the area. We’re very happy we chose this tour and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting. It was really informative, and well worth it!
