Excellent Time Birdwatching in St Maarten - We are an older couple, (63 & 60), who visited St Maarten in March 25 on a day trip from a cruise ship. This was an excellent tour. Binkie was extremely knowledgeable and amiable, very pleasant company and to talk to. He runs the local wildlife charity so he knows a lot about all wildlife on the island in throughout the Caribbean. He met us just a few minutes walk from the port, and dropped us off right at the port on the way back. Our "3 to 4 hour" tour lasted about 5 hours! We visited about 4 different birding sites, on both the Dutch and French sides of the island, he even took us back to his own house for a drink and to see the birds in his own garden. We saw plenty of birdlife and other wildlife and were extremely happy with the trip. We would thoroughly recommend Binkie and his tour. It's an excellent way to see some of the island and to get away from the busy tourist sites to much quieter spots. Perfect for cruise ship day visitors who want something different than the expensive cruise line tours.

We saw so many birds, and Binkie took his time in finding us birds and had very good knowledge of them, the island and historical facts about the island as well. He was very welcoming, kind and all around a fun person to be around! We went to many locations. The island is beautiful, I got wonderful pictures and saw all the birds I wanted to see and then some! My husband isn't much into birding and he went on the trip with me and even he loved it! It might have turned him into a birder he said! Ha!! Binkie attended to both our needs with ease and made this trip worth the time and money and truly unforgettable. Thank you again Binkie for your hospitality and making St.Maarten my favorite island and giving me this wonderful memory. 10/10. Highly recommend!!

Highly recommended! - Bindie is an excellent guide for birds and fauna. He knows his birds and where to find them. He helped me find 5 lifers. Highly recommend him. And his is FUN!

Great Birding Experience! - I was thrilled to find out that a birding tour was available when I booked my trip to Sint Maarten. Don't miss this tour, especially if you're a birder. Binkie is the best! He knows all the spots on both sides of the island. We made at least eight different stops. There were only two of us on the trip, which made for a very personalize tour. Some of the highlights included spotting the rather bashful scaly-naped pigeon, nesting egrets and brown pelicans, and bananaquits! I thoroughly enjoyed this trip and would lightly recommend it!

An enjoyable morning - We are new to bird watching and enjoyed our birding tour with Binkie. We were able to see birds from the Caribbean as well as migratory birds. We visited some birding spots tucked away in unexpected places. It was a nice tour to enjoy nature and learn about the island.

This tour was my best activity on the Island. Highly recommended if you like nature - The tour was absolutely amazing and my best activity on the Island. The guide, Binkie, really knows all the best (and stunning) places to watch birds and their habitats. We encountered 30 species of birds, the Bronw Pelicans of course (we saw a baby on its nest!), but also amazing pigeons (like the Scaly-naped pigeon and the cute Common ground dove), song birds (like the Banaquit and the Northern Parula) and amazing creatures like the Magnificent Frigatebird, the Brown Booby and the Antillean Crested Hummingbird. This tour shows how beautiful this Islands nature is. The guide explains how the birds and the ecology and the landscape all interact. Binkie was very friendly too and told a lot about the Islands history and landmarks. If you like nature and/or birds and you are on Sint-Maarten: do not miss out on the opportunity to do this tour. Highly recommended for both beginning and seasoned birders.

A wonderful day birding and experiencing the island! - I loved taking the birding tour with Binkie, enjoying seeing so many species of birds in the context of beautiful natural places on the island, as well as learning interesting stories about island history, culture and ecology in a relaxed and friendly experience. Birding with the President - To celebrate the end of 2023 we took a family birding trip with Mr. Binkie van Es, who is a tremendous guide to not only the birds of Saint Martin but is also the President of the Nature Foundation of Sint Maarten. We could not have asked for a more knowledgeable guide. We also applaud his enthusiasm for protecting the wildlife of the island. He showed us with pride a new bird viewing platform that his group had worked hard to implement. In addition to the bird views, we received a complete tour of the island, complete with historical and cultural information. This is a must do.

Not to be missed! - Binkie was a superb bird guide and a kindred spirit as a human being! We enjoyed visiting his home and bird feeder array!
