Starting from the hotel or guesthouse, the day begins with a visit to the Tuol Sleng Museum. This building, originally a French-built high school, became the most feared prison during the Khmer Rouge era from 1975 to 1979. Known as S-21 by the Khmer Rouge, it served as a torture center where 15,000 individuals were tortured before being sent to the Choeung Ek extermination camp to be executed. The prison guards, aged between 10 and 15, were indoctrinated by the senior members of Angkar and became more ruthless than the adults.

Next, the journey continues to the Killing Fields, following the path of the victims. There will be time allocated for lunch, with several restaurants available nearby.

After the lunch break, the visit to the Killing Fields, now a globally recognized site of reflection honoring the victims of the Khmer Rouge, will take place. Located 15 km southwest of Phnom Penh, it offers insight into the grim history of Cambodia. This death camp was where the Khmer Rouge executed approximately 17,000 of their own people, most of whom were prisoners from Tuol Sleng.

The day concludes with a cleansing ceremony at a local temple to pay respects to those who lost their lives during this tragic period. This ceremony provides a fitting end to what is often a challenging day for many.
