A Fine Introduction to Phoenix - SUMMARY: Fascinating architecture, surprising history, entertaining stories, and best of all, an easy-to-hear and easy-to-understand tour guide guaranteed every time (see below) I think 5.0 star reviews seem "fake" so I hesitate to rate this 5 stars, but the experience actually deserves it. So here goes! My wife Wendy and I went on Friday April 4, 2025 for the 1pm tour. The weather was delightful. TIP: if you can walk, Uber, or better yet, Waymo to the tour you won't have to worry about parking. The thing is that parking meters generally go for 2 hours, and the tour may generously go a bit over 2 hours; ours did. But I excused myself to run back and feed the meter. OTHER TIP: Since the tour ends at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Basilica (click on Itinerary here on TripAdvisor) why not park early right there, then walk to the starting point Valley Youth Theatre. That way if you have to "feed your meter" you'll be close. But take a Waymo instead (a WHOLE 'NOTHER review on that one, it was AWESOME taking a Waymo) THE TOURGUIDE: It's Lori Ann, and the advantage of her being the sole tour guide, sole employee and company owner (she let us know that right away) is that you get the BEST GUIDE on each tour. No need to worry about who you're gonna get. You're gonna get Lori Ann. THE ROUTE: it's several blocks in downtown Phoenix (or PHX as we out-of-towners say, trying to sound cool) so there is quite a variety of architecture, both old and new. THERE IS A FASCINATING THING ABOUT A CERTAIN YEAR, when it comes to these classic buildings, but I won't give it away. Part of the coolness of this tour. ART DECO: Yep. If you like that style of building, you are in for a treat. We LOVE IT! MOTION PICTURES: One of the coolest movies ever made has a tight connection to Phoenix, which we all may have seen on screen during the film, but then quickly forgot. LAW ENFORCEMENT and the JUDICIAL SYSTEM: Phoenix is at the root of some cool stuff which Lori Ann will explain. Surprising and cool. Familiar stuff, but you'll say "that was in Phoenix?" FOOD AND DRINK: Feel free to bring food and drink, totally cool, it's an outside street tour. You might see coffee shops on the way, but you don't really want to miss any of the narration. CONCLUSION: We loved this tour! And she has others like a Street Art Tour if I remember correctly, which we'll hit next time we visit PHX. This was our first time, and I was amazed at how cool this city is. Thanks Lori Ann of Ultimate Phoenix Street Walking Tours!

Wonderful Tour! - Lori Ann is a great guide! She’s very knowledgeable and is a great storyteller. It was a super windy day with some light rain and she made sure to alter our route and walked through buildings when possible. But then the sun came back out so it was fine. It was a great time walking around and I learned so much about the history of Phoenix. Highly recommend this tour!

A Great Rediscovery! - Lori-Ann was an amazing guide! I grew up in west Phoenix, and I often drove through the dilapidated downtown area when I was younger. But I had not been back in downtown Phoenix for many years. Lori-Ann knew both the history and all the culturally fun facts of the area. My wife and I, along with our out-of-state-friends, had a delightful, friendly, and informative time.
