- Wat Phanan Choeng Worawihan - Constructed in 1324, Wat Phanan Choeng predates the establishment of Ayutthaya’s capital by 26 years. The temple’s large hall features a seated Buddha image measuring 19 meters in height and 20 meters in width at the lap. Made from bricks and plaster, the Buddha is coated with black lacquer and gold. Revered as a protector of mariners, it underwent numerous restorations until the fall of the Ayutthaya kingdom, when both the temple and Buddha were destroyed by fire.
- Wat Mahathat - Built in the late 14th century, Wat Mahathat is celebrated for once enshrining the great holy relics of Lord Buddha in its central prang tower. It is also famous for the sandstone Buddha head entwined in tree roots, a highlight of Ayutthaya province.
- Wat Phra Sri Sanphet - Wat Phra Sri Sanphet is internationally acclaimed, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1991. It was the most significant temple during Ayutthaya’s golden era, serving as the royal chapel for the Ayutthaya Kings’ religious ceremonies. It is considered the architectural prototype for the Emerald Buddha temple in Bangkok.
