The two-storey house is distinguished by its ornate front door with golden Chinese characters and distinctive colored glass windowpanes. The airy, open central courtyard features a small pond, imported Italian tiles, an ornate wooden staircase, and many household fixtures and decorations from China. Almost everything in the house is imported, reflecting Phuket’s historical role as a trading route between Penang, Malaysia, and Europe.
