This trip is a must! - This was a magical trip! The kayak up river was fun and beautiful but the trip back down in the dark to see the glow worms was truly magical! So peaceful and amazing! Also, our guide was so helpful with my son, who is vision impaired, making sure he was safe and comfortable as well as close up viewing of the glow worms. I really appreciated it!

magnificent spectacle - To see the glowworms, I tried the Waitomo tour, with the caves. I much preferred seeing them through this kayak tour. We go up the river before nightfall, on the way, we meet wild geese and the guide tells us a little about the history of the Waikato River. We cross a breathtaking canyon then we stop for a snack accompanied by a hot drink, before leaving again when night falls. There, we let ourselves glide with the current, crossing the canyon again, in complete darkness, little by little the glowworms appear, a magnificent spectacle.

Alsome! - Never done a kayak before and the first time was both tiring and fun. The lake view was so beautiful and I saw many glowworns glowing like stars. In the night there was also silver river in the sky and kayaking under the silver river was unforgettable. Our guide was very interesting and knowledgeable, I learned a lot from this tour. I highly recommend this!

Magical twilight glow worm kayak not to be missed! - The Twilight Kayak Glow worm tour was part of our Hauraki Cycle Trail package & what a way to start our trip. Lake Karapiro was as flat as a pancake. All suited up and in our kayaks for a leisurely paddle with great Autumn colours. Mack lead us providing local history and pointing out the local wildlife. Loved the wee cheese & chocolate picnic with hot drink before we turned around for the main event. Such fun to be kayaking in the twilight surrounded by glow worms in the gorge. All finished with a bit of star gazing on a clear and stary night.

Wonderful Twilight Paddle - Wonderful Twilight paddle up the lake and through the Glow Worm Grotto. Fortunate to have excellent glassy conditions and lots of glow worms on display. Excellent guiding by Mac too! Thank you.

This was an experience of... - This was an experience of a lifetime and we’ll treasure it always. Jess was an incredible guide and knew every bird by sight and sound, every tree and so much information about the glow worms and the area. She even pointed out constellations on the beautiful, starry night and we could see the Milky Way. Riverside Adventures could have canceled on us because we ended up just having us two on this particular random late fall day tour, but they didn’t and we are so grateful!

Amazing experience - Great experience. I can highly recommend it to anyone. The glowworms were amazing and the nature around was really nice as well. On top of that we got a perfect clear nightsky and even learned some about the stars.

Great experience for our family. - Great experience for our family.
Mak was great answering all my son's questions driven by his anxiety. Dan was a legend towing back a couple of kayaks with international visitors.
Having all the gear, made the trip a breeze and being outdoors in the New Zealand environment is great.

Stunning quiet evening drift down the canyon of gloworms - A must do and quite different in unique way from the Waitome caves trips. Not hard kayaking and good gear, and safety checks.
My only minor beef is that the medical and risk waiver includes a waiver that they can use photos of you in their promotions and marketing. You have to sig Yes to this photo use conditon in order to complete the medical and risk waiver. This photo use should not be in this waiver. If they want to ask you for this photo use permission it should be in a separate section.
