Pillcopata - The journey begins with an early morning departure from Cusco in a comfortable vehicle. Travelers will traverse fascinating valleys nestled between the Andes Mountains and charming rural communities. A visit to the ancient pre-Incan tombs of the Lupaca culture is included, followed by a stop in Paucartambo, a stunning colonial town, to explore its intriguing museum. Lunch will be enjoyed in the cloud forest, an area teeming with unique species like the spectacled bear and the cock-of-the-rock, Peru’s national bird known for its distinctive courtship display. The journey continues through lush landscapes, offering glimpses of orchids, bromeliads, and ferns, until reaching the Pilcopata lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Manu National Park - After a hearty breakfast at the lodge, the group will head to Atalaya, stopping at a coca plantation along the way (with an optional visit to a hummingbird garden). In Atalaya, rubber boots will be provided for a 40-minute boat ride to the lodge. Upon arrival, guests can relax or enjoy a swim in the river.

Following lunch, there is an opportunity to experience a complimentary zipline adventure, soaring through the treetops and rappelling.

In the afternoon, a visit to Lake Machuwasi is planned, where participants can raft and observe birds such as the hoatzin, and possibly spot other wildlife like monkeys and capybaras.

After dinner, a night walk is scheduled to discover insects, frogs, and other nocturnal forest creatures.

Atalaya - Early in the morning, the group will board a boat to visit the macaw clay lick, a riverbank wall where various parrot species, including the blue-headed parrot, white-eyed parakeet, and chestnut-fronted macaw, gather each morning. These birds consume the mineral-rich clay to aid digestion and detoxification. Afterward, breakfast will be served at the lodge before taking a 40-minute boat ride back to Atalaya. From there, the journey continues by vehicle back to Cusco, with a lunch stop along the way, arriving between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.
