• Shifen Waterfall - Shifen Waterfall is Taiwan’s most renowned waterfall, nourished by the Keelung River. It stands approximately 20 meters (66 feet) tall and spans 40 meters (131 feet) in width. The journey to the viewing platform is a pleasant 30-minute walk, partially shaded and includes crossing a suspension bridge.
• Shifen Old Street - Located adjacent to Shifen Station in the Pingxi area, this historic street features an active railway line that runs directly through the market. Visitors often release sky lanterns on the tracks, pausing whenever a train passes by.
• Chiufen (Jiufen Old Street) - Step into this former gold-mining mountain town, originally constructed by the Japanese, now a labyrinth of lanes and alleys rich in history. Many of the quaint streets are stairways lined with snack stalls and teahouses, which can become quite busy. (Tip: To experience Jiufen at sunset or dusk, consider booking a departure after 11:00 AM. This will make Jiufen the final stop, allowing ample time to enjoy the sunset views and evening lights.)
