Douro River Tour with Bruno and Kalil - Excellent boat ride down the Douro River in Pinhao. Guides Bruno and Kalil were very knowledgeable and professional, and provided detailed history of winemaking and the background of the quintas.

Very good tour - Angie was an absolutely amazing tour guide, very friendly, we highly recommend her. We missed the first half of our tour which included the boat ride but they were very accomodating to meeting with us so we could finish the rest of the tour.

A day on the Douro - Peaceful boat ride allowed us to view the vineyards from the river while learning about the Douro… then we visited a Quinta to taste regular wines. We then enjoyed a local lunch (with more local wine) and afterwards visited another Quinta where they make port wine so we could learn about how it’s made. Finally we were taken to a lookout point way above the river and, returning to Pinhao we were able to see the azulejo panels on the very pretty train station. A full day! The guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. Thanks to Gugu, Ivo and Crispín!

Great Day Trip to Douro Valley Wineries - A very enjoyable day touring wineries in the Douro Valley. Recommend this tour. Pickup/drop off at our hotel in Porto. Transport in a comfortable van.

A memorable experience. A must do. - This experience was fantastic and well worth the money: We started the day with a boat trip down the Douro River with Kalil and Bruno. They both made the trip very enjoyable and provided informative commentary along the way. The port was very tasty and it had a good story alongside it. It was a lovely start to the day.
After our boat trip, we met Crispim who was our driver and guide for the rest of the day. We were a group of two families, one from the UK and one from Nicaragua, and got to know them quite well throughout the day. Crispim was an excellent host and made the hours fly by. We had an amazing tour of the valley with two excellent tastings. Lunch was a great experience with lots of locals and authentic Portuguese foods. My daughter is vegan and they even made her a bean stew which she said was delicious.
We finished with a tour of the railway station and a breathtaking surprise.
I would really recommend this trip. It was a memorable day.

Duoro Tours - worth considering - After searching for tours in Duoro on the internet, we opted for the 7hour tour with Duoro Tours, which included a river cruise, tour of two wineries, lunch and the Pinhao train station. We were initially unsure about the duration of the tour particularly visiting two wineries, (given my wife and I are not great wine drinkers), and that it would take up a whole day of our limited time in Douro.
In hindsight, it was a good decision to go on the tour. We highly recommend it! There were eight of us on this tour, which began with the river cruise - what amazing views from the boat!!, then proceeded to the first winery located at the top of a hill where we got to sample three table wines and experience more magnificent views of the valley. There was no pressure at all to taste the wines or make purchases. Incidentally the wines were exquisite. Then we had lunch at a local hotel providing a taste of Portugese food. After lunch we headed to another winery, this time a winery where port wine is made. Here we learned about the processing methodology and then it was time for more tasting. Port wines were delicious and definitely quite different from the table wines we tried earlier in the day. Afterwards, our tour guide ANGIE who was amazing and a wealth of information, gave us a surprise trip to a vantage point that allowed us to experience a breath taking and panoramic view of the Duoro Valley. All in all it was a fun day. We enjoyed getting to know the other guests, loved the wine tasting sessions and learning more about the vineyards and wine making process. A big shout out to our tour guide Angie who kept the energy up and left us in awe of Duoro! A tour certainly worth considering.

A beautiful day in the Duoro Valley - Our hotel recommended this tour, and we are so glad that we took it. Our tour included a boat ride, a traditional lunch, and two wineries (one port focused). Everyone at the company involved in our tour was friendly and professional. Angi was our primary guide for the day, and made the day especially fun with her sense of humor. We learned a lot from Angi about the area, and are so appreciative of the great memories we have from the day!

Meh - The day felt rather rushed, but also very full & long, but also a bit of a waste of time... I wouldn't recommend a group tour in this instance...

a nightmare. - We bought the boat tour at the exit of the station. When we reached the boat, it was a nightmare. The boat was unstable and very tight for so many people. A very uncomfortable ride. We'll never come back. After this bad experience we walked along the pier and had a fantastic private tour.
