- Pisac - At 8:30 am, guests are picked up from their hotel to begin the tour. The journey starts in Cusco, passing Saqsaywaman and traveling over the mountains towards the Sacred Valley. The tour descends 1,500 feet to the valley floor, arriving at the sacred Urubamba River and the village of Pisac. In Pisac, there is a stop at a traditional market, offering an opportunity to browse and purchase local souvenirs if desired. Approximately 30 minutes are spent here.
Next, the tour proceeds to the ruins of Pisac. Participants explore the extensive ruins while enjoying breathtaking views of the valley. A guided tour of the Citadel of Pisac is provided, showcasing temples, homes, altars, carvings, tunnels, caves, and the renowned Intihuatana, “The hitching post of the sun.” There is about 90 minutes allocated for exploring the ruins.
For those who prefer to spend more time at the market instead of visiting the ruins, they should inform the guide to arrange a time and place for pickup when returning through the market.
- Urubamba - The tour continues towards Urubamba, where there is a 45-minute stop for lunch (not included).
- Ollantaytambo - A 30-minute drive leads to Ollantaytambo, surrounded by sacred mountains. Here, participants spend about an hour. In Ollantaytambo, there is further exposure to Incan constructions, particularly the magnificent Temple of the Sun, featuring enormous blocks of rock perfectly carved and polished, stone water fountains, stairs, and terraces. The beauty of the local people in traditional dress, set against the backdrop of the sacred mountains and the Valley of Patacancha and Willoq, is also observed.
- Chinchero - On the return journey, there is a brief visit to the famous church and archaeological site in Chinchero. The tour returns to Cusco at approximately 6:30-7:00 pm.
