Exploring the Depths: My Unforgettable Dive at Museo Atlantico
Drawn by the allure of an underwater museum, I embarked on a journey to Playa Blanca to experience the Museo Atlantico. As a marine biologist, the promise of exploring art beneath the waves was irresistible. Join me as I dive into this unique adventure.
A Dive into the Unknown
As a marine biologist, the ocean has always been my sanctuary, a place where I find both peace and exhilaration. When I heard about the Museo Atlantico in Playa Blanca, I knew it was an experience I couldn’t miss. The idea of an underwater museum, accessible even to non-certified divers, was intriguing. I was eager to explore this unique blend of art and marine life.
Upon arrival, the Dive College Lanzarote welcomed me with open arms. The instructors were warm and professional, immediately putting me at ease. We began with a safety briefing and an introduction to the basics of scuba diving. Despite my familiarity with the ocean, the structured approach was reassuring. The pool training session that followed was a perfect way to acclimate to the equipment and practice essential skills in a controlled environment.
Overcoming Challenges
The transition from pool to ocean was seamless, yet the open water presented its own set of challenges. I was reminded of a fellow diver’s experience, who initially struggled with equalizing but was supported by the patient and persistent instructors. Their dedication to ensuring every participant felt comfortable and confident was evident.
As we descended into the depths, I felt a mix of anticipation and calm. The underwater world unfolded before me, a silent realm where time seemed to stand still. The sculptures of Museo Atlantico emerged from the blue, each piece telling its own story. It was a surreal experience, blending art with the natural beauty of the ocean.
A Lasting Impression
The dive was breathtaking, a reminder of why I fell in love with the ocean in the first place. The instructors, including Martina, Damo, Hank, and Mara, were exceptional, guiding us with expertise and care. Their passion for diving and the marine environment was infectious.
Though my dive was limited to 6 meters, the experience was profound. It reignited my desire to explore more of the underwater world and perhaps even pursue further diving certifications. The Museo Atlantico is not just a dive; it’s an invitation to connect with the ocean in a new and meaningful way.
As I left Playa Blanca, I carried with me not just memories of the sculptures and the sea, but a renewed sense of wonder and a promise to return. For anyone seeking a unique and transformative experience, I can’t recommend this dive enough.
