Yucatan was special, Mayan settlement, Cenote, Chichen Itza was the best experience. - CARIBE MEX TOURS. took very excellent care of me and other passengers from start to finish. The attendant from Viator told me that Carmen Playa was my option, I told them that I was staying in Tulum at the Moxy hotel they said that there is no pick up there. I spent 150 USD to go the Carmen and Coco Bongo I went there early to avoid traffic on and to wait longer that the 7am pick up, viator attendant stated. I stayed patiently and avoided disgusting approach from indidual woman- dressed but voice of a man. I saw other tours still waited to hear my name. I saw observed the bus pass my hotel after it pick us up from Carmen De Playa. CARIBE MEX TOURS, explained all tours and points and where to take pictures and buy souvenirs. They made sure that I got back the closest point to Moxy Tulum safely and with out any hassle at all , I will recommend CARIBE MEX TOURS, not Viator thought definitely not Viator. Yucatan was special, Mayan settlement, Cenote, Chichen Itza was the best experience.

Fantastic hike - At the beginning of the day we were greeted by a very prepared guide fleet with a wide knowledge of the Italian language with which he made it possible to learn about the history and culture of the Mayans, the typical dishes and how they are prepared, explore a wonderful cenote and visit countries that have made us learn about life in Mexico. Experience that I also recommend as a family suitable for younger children. Gracias flota❤️❤️❤️❤️

A long but very worthwhile day - This was a long, but worthwhile day. Chichen Itza is a beautiful and as one of many old Mayan cities, it's very historically significant place. Our hotel PU was 7:00 AM and we were dropped off a bit after 8:00PM. It's a log, but comfortable motor coach ride to get from Cancun to Chichen Itza. The motor coach was very modern, comfortable, clean and quiet, with excellent air conditioning and even a bathroom. The stop for lunch is made before you arrive to Chichen Itza and this is my only real criticism of the day and the program. While the lunch food and entertainment were great, to get to the eating area, all passengers had to pass through a long roped off gauntlet and were directed through way too many buying opportunities while being more than gently pushed to spend your money. First, there was the custom Mayan birthday calendar, buying opportunity, followed by the overpriced Mayan coffee & hot chocolate stand, next the charlatan Mayan Shaman, followed by the large outdoor Mayan gift store, followed by an indoor Mayan gift store where we were all packed in with the exit door kept closed while their sales staff was presenting buying opportunities. Altogether, it was WAY TOO MUCH captive audience selling before they opened up the lunch area. I resented the loss of time spent as a captive audience being "sold to" buy things which took away from having more time at Chichen Itza. We finally arrived to Chichen Itza, given our tickets and directed to either a Spanish or English-speaking guide. Some people just went off on their own self-guided walking tour, which I think was a mistake, because the guides were good and had valuable historical information about the buildings, the Mayan people and their culture. This was my 4th visit and there is plenty to learn. We did this trip in February, which was tolerable hot. Chichen Itza can be intolerably hot, so bear that in mind if the weather is hot in Cancun, it will be quite a bit hotter in Chichen Itza. After leaving Chichen Itza, we were taken to beautiful cenote Zaci that is 45 minutes away. To swim in the cenote, life jackets are required but can be rented for $5 USD. Everybody found the swim worthwhile and very refreshing. Cenote Zaci has useful and tastefully decorated "old Mexico" amenities. Food and mixed drinks are available for purchase. The grounds around the cenote are beautiful manicured. After the cenote, we were driven to the old Spanish town of Valladolid, where we had limited time to explore and take pictures. The centerpiece of town is the classic 16th-century Convent of San Bernardino of Siena, with an ornate wooden altarpiece, and baroque-style San Gervasio Cathedral. Across the street is the busy authentic Town square. It's still a long bus ride to get back to Cancun, but the guide provided with the bus was so entertaining he made, what could have been the boring part, fun and entertaining. Overall, I give very high marks for this tour, except for the tacky "run the gauntlet" excessive selling opportunity that is mandatory to get into the lunch area.

Great trip, a long day though - Overall we really enjoyed this trip. Chichen itza was awesome and so was the cenote. The only downsides I would say, was waiting around the day before for when we would be picked up in the morning, we only found out at 8pm the night before even after sending a few messages in the week leading up. The other thing is that when you stop for lunch, it is a very long stop and it is mainly them trying to get you to spend more money, you wait outside a tourist trap shop for ages all while multiple people come up to you. It felt a bit pressuring

Magical - Enjoyed the day, my friend, son and I loved Chichen Itza, what we say it was breathtaking to just be there, the guides did a great job making it come alive. The cenote was magical and after walking around in the heat it was needed. Would definitely recommend the tour!

A Good Tour… once it began… - Good trip once it began… Poor communication from Caribe MEX to understand pickup and excursion details. After chasing 5+ times over a full week (and getting TripAdvisor involved) I finally received confirmation of pickup etc. Our pickup arrived on time at the hotel (7:30am), however we were simply dropped off to the generic meeting point (Coco Bongo, PDL) where there were several different lines, buses and groups all trying to figure out what coach they should be on and what was going on. By the time we were settled on the correct coach with the tour company who were taking us for the day, it was closer to 9am (Yes, that’s right, it is not Caribe MEX who actually undertake the tour, it is a third party contracted). Following the completely disorganised communication and start of the trip, the actual company who ran the tour were very good. Everything we expected on the booking was provided for in the end. Yes, it is an extremely long day with most of it on a coach (7:30am - 10:30pm in our case). However, it was worth seeing the sites. This was expected ahead of time so there are no complaints there. You will be taken to some spots simply for upselling and the included lunch (if you are vegetarian or don’t eat pork, good luck). If you’re well-travelled you know what to avoid for this not to become an uncomfortable situation. E.g. don’t accept the “Mayan blessing” of being splashed with some water by a leaf and then asked to make a donation for it… or buy souvenirs priced at a huge mark up, which are available at Walmart, or at all the other stalls everywhere you go. All in all, it was a worthwhile trip to see the historic sites, cenote and town of Valladolid. Could have been better organised and maybe skip the unnecessary upselling “Mayan town”, or at least be transparent about the day’s itinerary.

Unfortunately, a sales tour rather than a nice experience - Unfortunately, a sales tour rather than informative. The sights were really great, the lunch was good, however the fact that you had to wait outside the restaurant for 45 minutes as everything is freshly prepared was not true. Time was just there to sell a lot of things. Also photos allegedly taken to simplify table placements ended up in photos on tequilla bottles that really nobody had asked for let alone anyone wanted. Here again, they just wanted to make money. On the bus, reference was made to mosquito spray and sunscreen sold on the bus. Since you would be immediately passed as soon as you leave the bus and that works best against the native mosquitos - quite a lie in fact. We didn't get stung without spraying, none of the group. Unfortunately, it wasn't an English tour either - it was Spanish with a few English words. The translation of Spanish into English has usually not taken place completely. The tone of voice was not very friendly. I have booked many tours through Viator and have never been disappointed until this time. I can only advise against the tour, visiting the sights on my own or with another tour. Just sad.
