Really fun experience! - So much fun! We had a great time both on the ATV experience and swimming in the cenote. Unlike other cenotes that we visited, this one was more remote, which meant that we were the only ones there. Visiting the village was also a really worthwhile experience and we loved the empanadas!

TLDR: cenote is shaded,... - TLDR: cenote is shaded, do not use sunscreen. The snack is not a full lunch. Bring a small amount of cash for tips and donations to the Mayan community. We were picked up directly from our hotel, which was an unexpected perk. We were driven to where the buggies are kept, which has a couple of bathrooms (highly recommend using as it’s the last running water toilet on the trip). They provided face/nose coverings and goggles as the road is very dusty. We then drove 2 person buggies down a paved trail that eventually turned to dirt. The buggy driving was a lot of fun, but there are serious potholes and rocks to watch for. The buggy we had was a Polaris rzr, so operation is straightforward, and it handled the potholes well. The Mayan village we went to is technically not a legal settlement, so there is electricity directly from the high power lines and no running water. There is a toilet available there where you pour water from a bucket to flush it. The empanada snack was delicious, but it’s not a lot of food. This was fine for us because it was only 9:30a and we had already had breakfast before leaving the hotel. We then had a chance to donate 100 pesos ($6us) to the Mayan village folks. There is private bathroom to change into swimsuits if needed at the lunch location. The cenote water is slightly cool, about 74F the guide said. There’s a dock style spot to dive from, and a small cave to go to on the other side where you can also dive from.

Your Next Adventure - Mateo and Abraham took us on a guided tour through the jungle and explained not only the beautiful history of the land and cenote, but also the Mayan community living nearby. For those open to learning more about the history + community & seeking adventure - this is the perfect tour

Good morning out in Playa - We had a great couple of guides. Welcome talk/safety talk was great combination of information and humour. First part of tour was to a Mayan village where you see how to locals really live. Warm welcome with snacks and drink. Next stop cenote in middle of jungle. The walk down and up is very uneven so if tou have walking issues beware. Great to see a natural cenote rather than a more commercial one. Return leg to base and prompt collection to hotel. Would recommend for sure. Note: wear swimsuit. Only wear old clothes as you will get very very dusty!
