Amazing experience - Amazing concept with many, many activities set against a backdrop of natural beauty and Mexican culture. We had Xcaret plus which meant we had lunch included, access to exclusive lockers and a different entrance to the underground river including transportation of our bags to the end of the river. Highlights for us included: 1. Underground river was amazing and despite it being high season it never felt crowded or too busy. This is a must for any visit. 2. Children’s world was also a big hit for my little girl who loved the idea that she was doing an activity course “independently” which included 2 water slides 3. Aviary - probably the most beautiful one I have been too - simply breathtaking 4. The river boat ride which included music and commentary was fantastic. It was very relaxing and informative. 5. Transport, which was included in price of ticket, was fantastic we were picked up on time and dropped off promptly Some downsides for us were: 1. Information when you first get in is not clear so you waste time trying to get your head around what is going on 2. Food wasn’t brilliant, we had a buffet included in our ticket price and chose Jalisco. We found the food to be low quality and there were no options for a 6 year old. 3. Prices - everything here is very pricey and all the add ons do add up quickly. The photograph package was mind boggling we wanted to buy 1 or 2 printed photographs rather than a full package which was $60 USD plus. The concept surprised our server who sent us to another desk but in the end we ran out of time and ended up with no photographs which was disappointing. Drinks, food etc. was also very expensive. The ticket price includes a night time show which we had a mixed view of. Firstly, this was a spectacular show which celebrated Mexican culture and heritage. The first half was fantastic as it gave the history of Mexico in an informative, visual way. We found the second half challenging though as it was more singing and dancing than anything else and seemed to last forever. It was tough to keep little ones engaged in the second half. Having said that many, many people seemed to have enjoyed it so I would encourage people to decide this for themselves. Overall I would highly recommend Xcaret, it was a great day out and I am glad we did it and would definitely return again as one day was not enough to do everything the park has to offer.

I would go again- so much to do! - Great day Xcaret park. River through the caverns was pretty cool. There’s a lot to do there so don’t be worried if you spend the whole day there and think you be bored because we couldn’t even cover the whole park. Never saw the monkeys because they were hiding somewhere. The XPA massage was AMAZING. food is extremely cultural so if you’re a picky eater like we were it was a bit challenging. The show was very entertaining and great at explaining the customs of different areas in Mexico, however a little hard to follow exactly what was happening if you are not fluent in Spanish.

Underground rivers were fun! - The underground river was the best experience at this park, however, it was very crowded even though we went first thing we got into the park (as advised by our guide). The other cool experiences have an additional charge. It was too hot and too crowded so we didn’t even end up staying for the night show. The buffets were not great at all. Overall, for us it was not worth the money to come here, but it seems fun for families with kids.

Don’t go without researching costs of everything! - My husband and I visited the Xcaret Park 12 years ago and were excited to recreate the fantastic experience we had with our child and close friends. I wish we had looked more closely at the price changes because we would not have planned on returning. The animal experiences are wonderful and worth the price. BUT you’re not allowed to take your phone with you and they charged us $278 USD for TEN pictures. And the photographers just shrug, smile and offer you ONE PICTURE for $50 when you ask about the price. They know you want memories of your family’s experience and don’t mind asking for outrageous amounts of money. Our photographer even suggested we be happy because we were only a family of three and larger families are charged more. Two of the restaurants charge $45 per person for one meal (even kids) and the others close at 5pm. And even though they say snorkeling is included in the basic ticket, you have to rent the snorkel gear at an hourly rate. We love to travel and understand that it costs money, but this felt like such a ripoff. I have always recommended this park to anyone I know going to Cancun, unfortunately I will not be suggesting it anymore. I wonder how long they’ll continue to be popular when it costs a family of four more than a thousand dollars for one day…there are many other, better experiences for families in Cancun for a fraction of the price!

Xcaret - failure to return to hotel - We had a trip to the park, and it appeared very regimented and organised…. However as we were leaving the park we were checked out at several points and physically taken to the bus and put on by the team there. They informed the driver of our hotel, and asked our room number which we gave and the driver wrote it down. However the journey should have taken approx 30 mins, he bypassed our hotel, my daughter questioned him as she spoke some Spanish, he informed her we were not on his list. He ended up taking us for a 2 hour journey and said he would drop us off in the centre of Cancun and we can make our own way back. We were ant Riviera Maya. Other passengers advised us against this, and recommended we got off at their hotel as it was safer, we arrived at their hotel at 6pm, after leaving the park at 4pm. We took an uber from there, and ended up at our hotel at 7.30pm (3.5hours later). We complained to our rep, and the park will only refund the cost of the uber, no tip (we gave $10usd) we missed our meal with friends we had planned… and they accepted no responsibility!! Xplor is better organised, as you get on the transport yourself!!! If you visit Xcaret, check your own transport, do not rely on their system. We checked it with several of their team, who spoke good English and they still messed it up…. It spoilt our day totally, our memories of the day are dampened by the long journey home!!

Bad experience/ don’t suggest - Didn’t go due to no pick up time and location initially and then I had to call trip advisor assistance. The assistant has asked to refund the money from the local agent without success. Super bad experience and ruling my trip in Cancun. Charged close $700 from the local agent without going to the tour. The local agent has refused to refund the money back to me. Overall suggest this ….

Bad experience - I didn’t even go the tour. I booked this tour on 7/18/2025 at 12:00 ( in 24 hours). On the same day, around 9pm I didn’t received any updated pick up information via text or email. I called the trip advisor and explained to them what happened and been told that they sent the text via messaging platform. I never received the text message. Due to afraid of missing any more updated information , I asked the trip advisor which I booked the trip to cancel the tour. The assistance said he would send message to the local tour company and asked the refund. Again, after that, I didn’t received any or updated information from the local agent. I have called and messaged as well email to trip advisor multiple times— final decision and no refund my money ( $700 roughly) Now I received to give a review which I never attend. Bad news experience and feel never come back to cancun. This is BAD EXPERIENCE: Charge my credit without attending the tour
