Morning Bliss: Sailing the Gold Coast
Start your Mother’s Day weekend with a touch of elegance and adventure on the Gold Coast. As the sun rises over Playa Flamingo, the morning air is filled with the promise of a day well spent. The Private Sailing Tour offers a perfect blend of relaxation and exploration. Set sail on the Pegasus, a beautifully restored 52ft French Sailing Yacht, and let the gentle waves guide you to secluded beaches and vibrant marine life.
The morning tour, available from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM, is an ideal way to kick off your day. With the sun casting a golden hue over the ocean, you’ll have the chance to snorkel, paddleboard, or simply relax on deck. The crew’s hospitality is unmatched, ensuring a memorable experience. As one recent review noted on 2025-04-27:
Great local crew and captain - The crew and captain were locals who were super friendly. Everything was as advertised and they knew exactly what they were doing. Yes, the boat is a bit older but I wanted a private tour as opposed to a packed catamaran so this served us well. Recommend them for a private tour.
Afternoon Adventures: Embrace the Elements
As the day progresses, the weather may bring a mix of clouds and potential storms, but that shouldn’t deter your adventurous spirit. The Sunset Cruise on Lupo Blu offers an afternoon escape from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This private charter promises a day filled with snorkeling, fishing, and dining, all while enjoying the open bar and the company of expert crew members.
The afternoon is a perfect time to explore the vibrant underwater world or try your hand at fishing. The crew’s expertise ensures a safe and enjoyable experience, even if the weather turns. A review from 2025-03-24 highlights the experience:
Amazing!! - I started to email with Valentina a few weeks before our trip inquiring about the boat charter and what it entailed. She was very responsive and so pleasant to interact with. We booked the morning tour that lasted about 4hrs. I was with my husband, and two teens. (14 & 16)
The marina was really easy to find. (Right before playa flamingo). The crew and the captain were at the boat and ready to greet us.
They gave us a bit of an orientation of the boat, and what the plan was for the morning. The plan was to get out on the water, snorkel and hopefully see some whales, dolphins, sea turtles and any other marine life.
The crew was so attentive right away, offering us a plethora of beverages, both alcohol and non. The boat had a big front deck with chairs and a bench to sit on. The inside had an air conditioned living room with a kitchen and bathroom. It was all very comfortable!
As soon as we got out on the water, the crew put some lines out and very shortly after they caught some black fin tuna and they asked our son if he wanted to reel it in, which he very happily did.
They caught a couple more fish and cooked them up for our lunch. It was so cool to catch our meal and eat it within a couple of hours. They had a great spread for lunch & snacks. There were wraps, chicken, beef, fresh fruit, chips & dip, and more! They did ask if we had any food sensitivities, which I thought was great.
It was quite windy the day we went out, so unfortunately the snorkelling conditions weren’t ideal and marine life didn’t make an appearance, but that’s just the risk you take when booking tours that rely on Mother Nature.
If you’re thinking of booking a private boat tour, I would highly recommend Ocean Life, they were absolutely amazing from start to finish.
Evening Serenity: Sunset and Reflection
As the sun begins its descent, painting the sky with hues of orange and pink, it’s time to unwind and reflect on the day’s adventures. The evening offers a chance to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of Playa Flamingo. Whether you’re savoring a quiet dinner by the beach or simply taking a leisurely stroll, the serene atmosphere is the perfect way to end your day.
For those who prefer a more structured evening, consider revisiting the Private Sailing Tour for a sunset sail. Although the evening tour isn’t available this weekend, it’s worth keeping in mind for future visits. The sunsets here are legendary, offering a breathtaking view that captures the essence of Costa Rica’s natural beauty.
Mother’s Day weekend in Playa Flamingo is a celebration of both adventure and relaxation. With a mix of activities and the ever-changing weather, it’s a time to embrace the unexpected and create lasting memories with your loved ones.
