The stop will be in the heart of the canyon, offering views of the clear, green Moraca River and its cliffs. The Moraca River is one of the few remaining wild rivers in Europe, extending about 113 km from its source beneath the high peaks of the Moracke mountains, with pristine and perpetually cold waters.
- Moraca Monastery - Situated adjacent to the Moraca River, this is one of Montenegro’s most important monasteries, housing some of the most exquisite icons and frescoes not only in Montenegro but throughout the Balkans. This 800-year-old religious site has a rich history and is among the most visited monasteries in Montenegro.
- Biogradska Gora National Park Visitor Centre - Approximately 90 km from Podgorica, Biogradska Gora National Park welcomes visitors with its ancient forest, one of only three remaining in Europe. At the park’s center lies the picturesque Biogradsko Lake, encircled by a gentle 3.3 km walking path. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature, breathe deeply, and enjoy the tranquility beneath trees that soar up to 60 meters and are 400-500 years old.
- Tara River Canyon - The journey continues through the expansive and deep Tara River Canyon, offering stunning views of the various shades of green of the Tara River, affectionately known as the “tear of Europe.” There will be an opportunity to touch its cool, green waters. The towering black pine trees guarding the canyon are impressive, while the famous Tara Bridge, standing 160 meters high, is awe-inspiring. Adventure enthusiasts can experience one of Europe’s longest zip lines here.
- Crno Jezero - Black Lake is the largest of the 18 glacial lakes in the Durmitor mountain massif, often referred to as the “mountain eyes.” It is the final gem of this tour, providing a perfect moment to relax on one of the many benches around the lake, surrounded by dense coniferous forest, and reflect on the day’s inspiring memories. The lake is situated at an altitude of 1500 meters above sea level and consists of two lakes that separate during the dry season and merge during the rest of the year.
