Kravica Waterfall - Located on the Trebižat River, Kravica Waterfall is a stunning tufa cascade in the karst region of Herzegovina, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is situated 10 kilometers south of Ljubuški and 40 kilometers south of Mostar. The waterfall stands approximately 25 meters tall, with a lake at its base that spans a radius of 120 meters.
Počitelj - Počitelj is one of Herzegovina’s most picturesque villages, nestled into a hillside 30 kilometers south of Mostar and just 4 kilometers north of Čapljina. Private transportation is recommended, though adventurous travelers might consider reaching Čapljina and then hitchhiking or walking the short distance. Visitors will find a village of remarkable beauty, ideal for exploring the narrow streets that ascend to the top, offering one of the region’s most breathtaking views. The Hajji Alija Mosque adds to the scene, with the impressive Kula towering in the background. While Počitelj can be busy in the summer, like much of Herzegovina, it also offers moments of serene solitude.
Mostar - Mostar Old Town - Sarajevo
Mostar Old Bridge - Crossing the ancient bridge’s gates feels like stepping back into the 16th century, with the essence of the Ottoman Turkish Empire in the air. Mostar’s Old City is the heart of Herzegovina. It suffered significant damage during the Bosnian Civil War, with the bridge being destroyed in 1993. Although the city has been restored, the scars of war linger in the hearts of residents of different faiths on both sides of the river. In the summer, the bridge hosts thrilling diving performances, where divers leap into the river for a 5-euro donation.
Blagaj - This renowned old town is less than 20 minutes south of Mostar, easily accessible by car or bus. It is a vital part of Bosniak culture and a must-visit for anyone interested in the country. The Tekija, a unique blend of monastery and educational house, is the main attraction, nestled at the base of a cliff from which a river emerges. While photos of it are common, they don’t capture its true essence, so a visit is highly recommended. The restaurant across from the Tekija offers a delicious mixed grill for those feeling peckish. History enthusiasts will also appreciate the Blagaj Fortress overlooking the town.
