Founded shortly after Epidamnus – Dyrrachium, Apollonia quickly rose to prominence as one of the most notable cities in the Adriatic basin, frequently mentioned among the 30 cities sharing its name in antiquity. It was situated within the political community of the Taulantii and was widely recognized as Apollonia of Illyria.
- Gjirokaster - Gjirokastër, a UNESCO World Heritage site in Southeastern Albania, is renowned as the City of Stones. This historic Ottoman-era town is famous for its traditional stone houses perched on a hill. Celebrated for its cultural significance, Gjirokastër was designated a UNESCO site in 2005, highlighting its architecture as one of the most representative of the Ottoman period.
- Zekate House - The Zekate House is a magnificent example of a typical tower-house, belonging to one of the wealthiest families in Gjirokastra during the 19th century. Owned by Beqir Zeko, a general administrator under Ali Pasha, it was constructed between 1811 and 1812.

- Bylis - Byllis, or Bullis, was an ancient city and the principal settlement of the Illyrian tribe of the Bylliones, traditionally located in southern Illyria. During the Hellenistic period, the city was part of either Illyria or Epirus, and in Roman times, it was included in Epirus Nova, within the province of Macedonia. The remains of Byllis are located northeast of Vlorë, 25 kilometers from the sea in Hekal, Fier County, Albania. Byllis was declared an archaeological park on April 7, 2003, by the Albanian government.
