• Polonnaruwa - The tour begins at 8:00 am from the pier on the banks of the Sea of Parakrama. Traditional bamboo rods will be provided, and a local fisherman will accompany the group to guide them to the best fishing spots and offer assistance if needed. Participants will take a canoe out onto the water.
  The Parakrama Samudra was created in the 12th century by King Parakramabahu I, a renowned engineer who constructed many architecturally advanced monuments. When building the reservoir, the king famously declared that not ‘even a single drop of rainwater should escape to the sea without being of use to mankind.’ The Sea of Parakrama is formed by connecting three separate reservoirs with narrow channels.
  Fishing in the reservoir primarily targets Tilapia species, which are predominant. Besides fishing, visitors can enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding landscape, including the distant Knuckles Range. Additionally, they can observe birds and other wildlife such as elephants, monkeys, and deer that frequent the reservoir.
