You will reach Pompeii in approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes and during the journey you will be able to admire the landscape characterized by mountains. We will stop halfway through the journey for 10 minutes for a break to go to the bathroom and have a coffee with some snacks. In Pompeii travelers will be able to visit the ancient Roman city next to modern Naples. Pompeii, together with Herculaneum, was buried under 4-6 meters (13 - 20 feet) of volcanic ash and pumice in the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD. , the inhabitants were also buried before they could escape. The cost of the ticket is included in the tour and a professional local guide is also included for groups of up to 20 people.

- In Pompeii, travellers can decide whether to take the tour with a guide who will be in a group of about 15/18 people or decide to use the audio guide with a map of the route.
- If the travellers are 2/3 people, you travel in a comfortable new car, while if the travellers are 4/7 then you travel in a minivan.
- The pick up is at 07.00, in case of delay of the customers the driver will give them 30 minutes more, after this time the driver will be forced to leave and the customers will not be refunded.
- The Tuor in Pompeii has 3 options. The first is a tour with an official guide with a group of 15/20 people, this is included in the price. The second option is with the audio guide with its map and customers are independent and is included in the price.Third option is an official guide only with customers without group, in this case there is an extra 48 euros per person.

Our driver Andrea was... - Our driver Andrea was outstanding. He was knowledgeable, friendly and went out of his way to make sure this was a special experience for our family. The private tour of Pompeii was beyond our expectations and we wrapped the day with an afternoon lunch on the beach in Positano. Thanks for a day we’ll always remember.

Great catacombs tour and Ancient Rome - Wonderful way to tour the catacombs, Ancient Rome including the Appian way and learn about the rich history. Our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate about what he shared throughout the tour.
Federico was our tour guide and I highly recommend this tour! We had a group from age 9 to 60 and it was great for all ages. Very engaging and a great way to tour.

This was an excellent... - This was an excellent tour. It gave us the opportunity to see the coast as well as visit Pompeii and learn about the history behind it. Our driver, Andrea was excellent! He made sure we were able to see and experience both cities to its fullest extent.

Wonderful day and Andrea is excellent! - Andrea is amazing. He is an excellent driver who took us to Pompeii and expertly navigated the narrow and winding streets to Positano. (Not for the faint of heart!) We thoroughly enjoyed our day.

Highlight of our trip! - This was one of the highlights of our trip! The driver was very friendly and made sure we had everything needed. Made stops along the way for breaks, and was very clear with instructions when we needed to separate for visiting Pompeii and Positano. His smooth driving made a big difference on the curves of the Almafi coast.

The perfect Pompeii and Positano Experience - Our drivers, Andre & Francesca were excellent. They knew where to stop for views and photos. Had great contact with our guide at Pompeii (she even brought us directly back to them). Gave us a great restaurant in Positano and made reservations for us. The car was comfortable and clean. They were always checking to see if we needed to make a pit stop. We made and excellent choice and would highly recomend them.

Fantastic day out taking in Pompeii and Positano - We had a fantastic day with Andrea. It was so convenient being picked up from our hotel (Andrea was even early). He stopped after about an hour so we could get some breakfast and a coffee. Once at Pompeii he took us exactly where we needed to go, and made sure our tour guide knew to bring us back to him at the end. He also found bathrooms we could use and we weren't charged as he knew the people. I was really thirsty after the tour and wanted to grab a fresh orange juice, he knew exactly where to go and the orange juice was fantastic. Pompeii was pretty crowded as we happened to be there on a day it was open free to the public, but because we were pretty early we avoided most of the crowds - very busy on our way out though.
Then he took us on our lunch trip to Positano. The traffic wasn't all that great but not much to be done. We stopped for a photo opportunity at one point along the way. We were glad Andrea was driving as the turns were tight with lots of pedestrians everywhere. He said it was nothing compared to summer crowds! We found a nice place to eat along the beach (Andrea leaves you to do this whilst he waits nearby to where the car is parked). Positano was beautiful, highly recommended.
The traffic coming back to Rome was pretty heavy, probably took over 2.5 hours. As a result our tour ran over time but Andrea gave us plenty of warning about this. We had a stop on the way home for bathroom and drinks/snacks if we needed. He was chatty and easy to get along with, my husband had great fun talking to him in the front seat.
Even got hugs at the end which I thought was lovely. Thanks for looking after us Andrea!

Skip this— expensive and misleading description of tour - I will say that the driver was very competent and courteous. That said, most of the excursion was spent in the car. We started this excursion at 6:50 in the morning and did not get back until nearly 830 PM. Of the 13 1/2 hours, approximately two hours were spent at Pompeii and under two hours at Positano.
The tour of Pompeii was marketed as an expedited private 2 hr tour with 12-15 people. Ours had > 30, lasted 1 3/4 hrs & didn’t even include 3 of the main sites— brothel, faun, Vetti houses. Ten to 15 minutes at the beginning were spent while the guide got free tickets for kids under 17 in the group.
I would not advise anyone to take this tour. It was very expensive and the description did not match the actual experience. Extremely disappointing— I had been so looking forward to seeing Pompeii.
