The day begins with a 9am pickup in Ponta Delgada, heading to the rim of Sete Cidades’ caldera. Along the way, there will be several viewpoints to admire the stunning green and blue lakes. After enjoying this enchanting spot, the journey continues to another equally beautiful destination post-lunch: Fogo Lake.

The day begins with a 9am pickup in Ponta Delgada, heading to the rim of Sete Cidades’ caldera. Along the way, there will be several viewpoints to admire the stunning green and blue lakes. After enjoying this enchanting spot, the journey continues to another equally beautiful destination post-lunch: Fogo Lake.
Lunch will be served at a local restaurant in Ponta Delgada. In the afternoon, the tour proceeds to the breathtaking nature reserve of Lagoa do Fogo, offering spectacular landscapes. This is one of the island’s most popular attractions, and its beauty will be evident upon arrival. From the volcano’s summit, visitors can enjoy remarkable views of São Miguel, with both the North and South coasts in sight.
The adventure continues with a visit to Caldeira Velha, a warm, iron-rich waterfall where guests can take a refreshing dip, thanks to the volcanic activity heating the water to 26°C (79°F).

Not to lose - Fascinating views. Depending on availability and weather conditions, kayaking is a unique experience.
The Rodrigo Guide is interactive and accessible.
The experience is worth it.

Stunning scenery! - Lovely day long trip. Stunning views of the landscape and the lakes formed in the craters left after volcanic eruptions. Good fun doing the bike ride in the afternoon and the buffet lunch was great!

Brilliant Tour. - We absolutely loved our Jeep tour to Sete Cidades. Rodrigo was our convivial host who we had met on our previous tour to Terra Nostra. The jeep can be bumpy but Rodrigo kept checking with us to see we were ok. The back being the bumpiest meant we had a couple of swapping of seats during the drive.
He is so funny/happy/knowledgable and definitely added even further enjoyment to this trip.
The views from the hills are spectacular. (weather allowing) if you have been to the islands you will know it can change even hour to hour!
My husband really enjoyed the cycling meanwhile as I am not a cyclist I thoroughly enjoyed wandering around the village, church and lake.
All the guests on the trip got on well and we all, along with Rodrigo enjoyed a fab buffet lunch with wine/soft drinks.
After lunch it was great to go kayaking in the beautiful green and blue lake 😊.
All in all a fantastic trip and I would highly recommend.

Fantastic views and colours … nature at its best - Amazing to ascend to the peak of caldera and take in the spectacular views and colours .. Jeep made the experience great fun (and roads manageable!) with our driver incredibly knowledgeable. Shout out to Paulo.

Great land tours - My husband and I rarely do organized tours but these 2 were exceptional! We went on a full tour with our guide, Luno to Sete Cidades which was both fun and informative. Today we took a half day tour with Rodrigo to Lagoa Fogo and took a dip in the thermal baths at Ponta de Ferraria. Both guides were extremely knowledgeable, friendly and made the tours extra special. I would highly recommend.

Book this tour! - My husband and I had the best time! We did a half day for Sete Cidades and signed up last minute and we are so glad we did! It was just my husband and I, so it was a private little tour and our tour guide was amazing. She educated us on so much information on not only the village and lake of Sete Cidades, but of Sao Miguel and the other islands! She brought us to other breath taking views, it was amazing!

Fantastic tours in Sao Miguel - We took a whale watching tour as well as a tour of the island on two different days. We were very lucky to have great weather both days. The whale watching trip was exceptional. The guides and crew were all very professional and the catamaran tour boat clean and comfortable. We were fortunate to see Sei whales as well as three different species of dolphins, as well as tuna and a school of fish in a ball formation, which is apparently uncommon, being set upon by the dolphins and tuna.
Our tour of the island involved seeing the calderas of Sete Citades and Fogo, as well as thermal springs. Miguel was a very professional, friendly, knowledgeable guide . The scenery was beautiful.

Perfeito!!! - Well - I booked before with another, and they were unwilling to tell me how many passengers could go into a Jeep. So we decided that they did not fit with my expectations. So I found Futurismo, who told me a minimum of 6, but some could also 8. When I met many friendly fellow cruisers on our cruise, we asked for the larger vehicle. Patricia was incredible: she found a larger vehicle for us so we could celebrate our 25th anniversary with many friends and must leave anyone behind. Paolo was the perfect guide. We had luck and the best weather to have an enjoyable tour. It was inspiring. I know: whenever I am back on Sao Miguel, Futurismo will be the first contact to ensure a great tour on Sao Miguel again. Obrigado!!!

Futurismo Azores Adventures/Sao Miguel jeep tour - Our tour guide, Paolo, was outstanding. we had a great trip. The only problem was a little bad weather that limited our view of Lagoa do Fogo. Certainly not his fault. Enjoyed the sights of this beautiful island, with some history and insights along the way.

Get a rental car instead - We got stuck in the back of the Jeep and were tossed around like rag dolls for most of the trip. We ere facing each other and my husband got very car sick from the experience. I ended up with a bruise on my forehead from being bounced around so much. Not a great experience at all. Probably would have been different if we were in a regular seat. Also, our guide smelled of cigarettes and almost every stop he pulled out a cigarette to smoke. Very unprofessional. We ended up getting a rental car the next day and wish we had just done that from the start.
