A wonderful evening, and a must do ! - The Hungry Whale took us on a wonderful evening of cocktails, wine tasting and food. Our guide Marco was brilliant and whilst explaining the history of the city in detail, he led us around fantastic little bars and restaurants that presented tasting experiences for us. We experienced many parts of the city, we may normally have never seen, if it wasn't for the excellent planning from Marco and his team. We concluded the evening by having a fabulous meal that was held in their very own private restaurant and prepared by Marco and the owner Fernando . All in all this was a fabulous and worthwhile experience that we would highly recommend

Unique experience - A special evening in a small group. Our guide Ishaja not only gave a lot of information about the history and the special conditions of wine growing in the Azores. The selection of wines, the places visited and the appropriate snacks could give a good impression of the culinary diversity of the Azores. The highlight was the final dinner in the unique restaurant of Hungry Whales.

Ponta Delgado Walking Food Tour - I highly recommend Hungry Whales' Walking Food Tour. It was excellent. The tour owner Rafael was very accommodating with our schedule, which was significantly affected by weather related flight delays. The tour was led by Marcus who was fantastic. Very knowledgeable, personable and encouraging of us all to sample the foods of Sao Miguel. He was assisted by Maria who provided wonderful support.

Cultural foodie tour and the best desserts ever. - We have thoroughly enjoyed our gourmet food and wine tour with Hungry Whales. It was full of interesting historical stories, where to eat, and laughter. Our guide and chef were committed to having us sample Azorean wines, dessert wines and fabulous food, both in various locations and at their premises. The chef’s food was outstanding and our guide was full of knowledge and professionalism in everything she did. Thank you for the best cultural foodie tour we have ever had. We wish you all every success in your endeavours.

Marco was an excellent guide! Lots of fun. Relaxing dinner with our own personal chef-Maria!! Each dish was fabulous! - 5+++ Food and wine were paired perfectly! They were able to make accommodations for all kinds of food allergies and preferences.

Wonderful time - Excellent time. The tour guide was very friendly and informative. The wines were delicious and we learned about the history of the island through the tour. The food at the end was delicious, especially a starter food with safflower which was one of the most delicious foods I’ve tasted in a long time.

A fabulous Evening 🍷 - This was an absolutely fabulous experience. We met an incredible group on this tour and your team is phenomenal. What a beautiful way to end our last day here! We would highly recommend this tour - Rafael did a great job introducing the unique history of the Azorean wine and food. We sampled several traditional wines in the walking portion and ended up back at the Hungry Whales for a great dinner along with more Azorean wines.

Food, fun, and local flavor! - Our guide, Fred, gave us a combination of local history and stories, while leading us on a tour of the harbor area of Ponta Delgada. The wine pairings were very different, the various restaurants we visited were unique, and the meal at the end was outstanding. I learned about so much more than JUST wine. It was a nice mix of people on the tour and Fred kept the fun going throughout the night. Several times since then I have told others about the information that I learned on the tour... Food, wine, local history, etc. This was extremely fun!!
