• Fenais da Luz - This parish, situated on the northern coast of São Miguel Island, serves as both the starting and ending point of the tour. Initially, the tour begins on paved roads, then transitions to riding along the seafront and exploring the area’s dirt roads.
• Pico da Cruz - Standing at an altitude of 845 meters, this mountain offers a stunning view similar to “Miradouro da Boca do Inferno,” but from a higher vantage point, making it even more spectacular. From here, one can see Lagoa Rasa, Lagoa de Santiago, Lagoa Verde, Lagoa Azul, and the entire crater of the dormant Sete Cidades volcano. If the weather is favorable, this is one of the tour’s highlights, offering a nearly complete view of the island from the summit.
• Vista do Rei Miradouro - At an elevation of 540 meters, this viewpoint provides a unique and panoramic view over the Sete Cidades crater. Depending on the weather and road conditions, visitors can enjoy a similar view from a different angle at “Miradouro das Cumeeiras,” offering an amazing perspective of the green and blue lakes from the opposite side of the crater.
• Miradouro do Cerrado das Freiras - Here, visitors can expect to traverse dirt paths surrounding the Blue Lagoon in Sete Cidades, with breathtaking views of the lakes.
• Sao Vicente Ferreira - This parish, located on the north coast of São Miguel Island, is one of the villages passed through on the return journey to the meeting point. The route includes passing by Poços, a bathing area, and the site of the old whale factory, which has been inactive since 1970, leaving only the factory chimney. A dirt path connects this parish to Fenais da Luz.
