• Parque Natural da Ribeira dos Caldeiroes - Move on to the Ribeira dos Caldeirões Waterfall, arguably the most iconic and photographed in the Azores. It features multiple waterfalls harmoniously arranged in a well-kept park in Nordeste. The main waterfall is grand, with water cascading like a veil over natural stone. The park is a perfect blend of human craftsmanship and nature, where restored 16th-century stone watermills are seamlessly integrated into the landscape. The rustic architecture, stone bridges, lush green vegetation, and pristine flowing water create a fairytale setting, easily accessible and captivating with its scenic beauty and landscaping.
• Achadinha - At noon, enjoy a delightful buffet-style lunch featuring traditional Azorean dishes at a local restaurant. This meal will energize us for the second half of our journey. • Trilho Moinho do Felix - Cascatas - Next, visit the Teófilo Waterfall, located in a valley near the ruins of the old Félix Mill, accessible via a circular footpath. This waterfall is one of several along the Ribeira da Salga stream. Its charm lies in the lush, humid valley environment, surrounded by dense vegetation, making it a picturesque spot in the heart of the rainforest. The Gruta Waterfall, named for its connection to rock formations or a nearby small cave, also resides in a riverside setting with abundant vegetation, creating a cool and natural atmosphere for visitors to enjoy.
