Five stars aren't enough - highlight of the Australia leg of our trip - Just an incredible day! We made sure we were at the berth early, as suggested, to make sure we got a choice of seats for the 90 minute outward leg of the trip. This was brilliant enough. The Quicksilver viii sped over the waters, northwards up the coast for a good while before turning east into the Pacific towards the Reef. We were well looked after from before we even boarded by Seb, a truly brilliant bloke and a lovely guy who kept an eye on us throughout most of the day when his crew duties allowed... everything from advice on when (and where) to put on sunscreen through to the best places to snorkel and what other activities were worth our while. Thanks Seb, legend! Once we got to the pontoon (a permanent fixture used by marine biologists to study the Reef and its inhabitants), the fun really began. It started with lunch, which was a delicious mix of hot and cold with salads, seafood, curry, bread etc. Considering it is put together on board, it was excellent, and all included in the price. We then moved outside to pick up our gear for the main reason we were here, the snorkelling. With plenty of sizes of suit to choose from, you will be able to find one to fit, and with all the snorkels and masks disinfected before use, there are no problems there either. The swim itself was magical. We took advantage of the chance to hire an underwater camera and were so pleased we did. Even our amateur efforts were stunning. We enjoyed quite a long time in the water, swimming in the designated zones - if you are a strong enough swimmer head slightly further out, still within the safe area - this is where the water became very shallow and you get so much closer to the Reef. But even closer to the pontoon, the life around you is incredible. Honestly, i never expected to see so much, so close. By now we were getting a little tired so returned to the pontoon, just in time for fish feeding, so found ourselves surrounded by the most amazing creatures while a staff member gave a talk about what we could see. We then enjoyed a 25-minute ride in the submersible, venturing slightly further out from the pontoon, while a marine biologist talked us through what we could see out the windows. This vehicle is slightly claustrophobic, so please be aware of that, but honestly, we wouldn't have missed it. The views were awesome, and Fern's talk as we moved through the Reef was incredibly helpful and informative. Honestly, from the food, to the snorkeling, to the service from the crew, lifeguards and marine biologists (thank you again Seb, Fern and everyone), to the Quicksilver itself, and to the real stars - the Reef and its inhabitants... it was the absolute highlight of this leg of our trip. If you want to take advantage of your time on board and scuba or use a helmet to walk around underwater booking is absolutely essential. If you have your own underwater camera, then take it with you. Otherwise, head straight to the on-board photography crew who will lend you one of the limited number of excellent GoPros they have. But pack (marine friendly) sunscreen and be prepared for some amazing sights!

Personal touch! - Had a great family of 4 experience diving the Great Barrier Reef. We are still relatively new to diving and requested a personal dive instructor. We were paired up with Indiana that day for 3 amazing dives. She kept us confident and safe as we explored the Reef. I’d recommend Quicksilver and Indiana!!

Great way to experience the reef - Very well organised. They managed to get a lot of people in the water really well. Food was excellent and crew really friendly. When snorkelling most people stuck closely to the yellow line which became crowded. Answer is to swim away from the line into space. Overall a great experience and great value.

Great team made this a perfect experience - This was a great trip to amazing diving and snorkeling spots on the reef made even better by the professionalism of the staff. We were well briefed on safety and provided with everything we needed. The marine biologist was engaging and answered any questions we might have. They catered for both diving and snorkeling on the same trip. Added bonus - the lunch and snacks were delicious.

Boat was great. Captain Cliff "LEGEND" . next time will do a tour with less people. Less "urgency" from people trying to get in - Enjoyed the day but will do a smaller tour next time without 200 people pushing and shoving. Lunch was very nice. Boat very clean and fast.

Wouldn’t recommend if you’re an experienced diver. - The whole day is like a fun fair experience, the boat holds 300 people and the pontoon has various activities which is fantastic if you’re on a family day out or if you’re going for an introductory dive. The food on board was nice and staff were pleasant, but I wouldn’t recommend if you’re an experienced diver as both dives felt more like a try drive.
