• Queen’s Park Savannah - A city highlight! Among the Magnificent Seven, Stollmeyer’s Castle, also known as “Killarney,” is one of the seven stunning mansions surrounding Queen’s Park Savannah in Port of Spain. It was the first to be constructed, built for entrepreneur Charles Stollmeyer in 1904 by Scotsman Robert Gillies, who drew inspiration from Scotland’s Balmoral Castle.
• Memorial Park - This park honors nationals of Trinidad and Tobago, as well as Canadians, British, and Americans who fell during the First and Second World Wars. Since these wars were a joint effort of many nations, come and see if your ancestor’s name is inscribed on the 30-foot tall cenotaph. Visit the city’s historical museum for a self-guided tour, if open.
• Maracas Beach - Embark on a drive through the Northern Range Rainforest, offering breathtaking views. If you’re hungry, enjoy a Bake n Shark sandwich on the beach at Maracas Bay (guests are responsible for their own expenses). This popular spot is the quintessential Caribbean beach, renowned for the scenic rainforest drive required to reach it.
