Port Royal - Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Port Royal, including the fishing village and The Grand Excelsior Hotel.
Port Royal is one of the country’s oldest and most historic areas, preserving much of its independence and heritage. Once a haven for pirates and other outlaws, it still retains a strong maritime tradition. Much of the old city, once dubbed the “wickedest city in the west” in the 17th century, now lies submerged beside the town due to an earthquake in 1692 that consumed about two-thirds of the then-existing space. Since then, another earthquake in 1907, along with numerous hurricanes, fires, and various population-reducing diseases, have affected the town. Despite these challenges, the waters around Port Royal are a rich archaeological treasure trove, filled with historical artifacts that narrate the story of daily life during the early days of English settlement. -

- Emancipation Park - Located in New Kingston, the park is themed “Tribute to Freedom” and features an 11-foot bronze statue titled “Redemption Song,” depicting a black man and woman gazing skyward. This statue, situated at the southeast entrance of the park, symbolizes triumph over the tragedies of slavery. West African spiritual symbols are integrated throughout the park’s design, and the vibrant tropical plants and flowers create a relaxing atmosphere. It stands as a symbol of hope and freedom for the Jamaican people.
