Uniquely Amazing Experience - Our family of four took the evening Cruise down the Willamette River. The little boat only takes six passengers, and since there was nobody else, we got our very own private tour. We were supposed to see 12 bridges and a few waterfalls, plus make a few stops according to the itinerary, but that did not happen as planned. It was Fleet Week, and massive Ships were sailing into town to park alongside the retaining wall. As they were coming in, we had to have Police and Coast Guard escorts as we slowly had to pass certain secure areas. We could only advance to a point, and then had to turn around. Our two-hour trip became a three-hour one. As we waited on the water, we saw a humongous Coast Guard Ship come in and saw the Drawbridge open while another bridge moved up and down to accommodate its very tall Sails. Then everything lowered to allow the trains and other bridge traffic to continue. Mechanical engineering at its best...! Our perspective from the river was a life-changing one, and will remain in our memories for a long time… We have seen Naval Ships in NY and CA, and even been on them, but they looked quite ominous from our little boat -- low-down on the water. Captain Steve was fantastic. He gave us a lot of history of the bridges we saw and regaled us with several stories and anecdotes about the city of Portland. He pointed out several interesting places like movie locales, floating homes, corporate buildings, factories, submarines, shipwrecks, etc. He did his best to keep us engaged, --- even with all the entertainment happening around us – lol We love bridges and recommend this tour to future visitors. We will also make it a point to look your “Portland River Tours” Company up and re-book this tour on our return to Portland.

Comfortable Private Tour - Our guide, Charles, was so knowledgeable and personable. He provides a comfortably warm and clear enclosed boat ride complete with heated seats and blankets. He made sure that we saw all 12 bridges and pointed out the unique characters and history of each one. He also made sure to provide us with nature views. We saw eagles and sea lions. The tour is limited to 6 passengers, so our family of 4 got our own private tour! On our next trip, we are thinking of doing the same tour at night to see the bridges lit up.

Best views you can ever get with a great guide. - Book this now! The views are amazing, captain was very knowledgeable of the area telling you the details of each bridge as well as many more things about Portland. From the time that we got to the dock to the time we got into a car to leave they were very professional and kind. It was cold on our day, but they had a heated blanket already warmed up and extra blankets to keep us warm along the tour. We learned more about the city in this 2 hours than we did in 2 weeks of research before visiting. We took the 5 PM tour and the sunset was perfect for a great view of everything.

Private Cruise For Business Trip. - This was an incredible trip down the Willamette river. Very informative, relaxing, and just a great way to hang out with family, friends, or in my case, co-workers. We brought a cooler full of drinks and a bag of snacks as well. I would suggest maybe doing the same. 10/10 would recommend.

Long Day on the Willamette River? - We were the last tour to go out on Sunday of Labor Day weekend. The Captain did a good job of giving us factual information about all of the bridges. It was a nice day. That said, there were only 4 of us on the tour and the Captain didn't try to engage us at all. No chatting, didn't ask our names, no joking. Just factual information. Perhaps he was pissed off at me or tired. He TEXTED me after 3 pm asking if we could come at 5:45 instead of 5 pm because the 1 pm & 3 pm tours ran late. My TEXT response was...do we really have a choice? To which he replied that we could have a shorter tour with a partial refund or cancel for a full refund. I chose not to cancel because it was our son's birthday. So we ended up finishing the tour at dusk and going to dinner at 8 pm afterwards. And...btw, no apology for running 45 minutes late. We were not impolite or rude and we still tipped.
