Situated in Porto Cristo, these four caves were formed between 11 and 5.3 million years ago. Their underground scenery, crafted by rainwater seeping through limestone, resembles a scene from a science fiction movie.
The earliest written mentions date back to the 14th century, and in 1784, Cardinal Despuig included them on his map of Mallorca. In the 19th century, a vast underground lake, 170 meters long, was discovered. Since 1935, a magical classical music concert has been held on this lake.
