Driving tour of the Duoro Valley - We had the pleasure of having Anselmo give us a driving tour of the Duoro Valley. His knowledge of the area, processes and vineyards was invaluable. Really enjoyed the stops he chose along the way. I would highly recommend spending the time with him. You will not regret it.

Amazing Douro Day! - We had a fantastic day exploring the Douro Valley with Anselmo. He took us to beautiful viewpoints along scenic backroads. We visited a fantastic winery where we enjoyed a tasting and a delicious lunch. We enjoyed ‘farmers port’ in a little village and had another tasting experience. It was a super interesting day but also good fun. So glad we booked it.

Anselmo spent 10.5 hours giving the five of us what felt like a tour of the hidden gems of the Duoro Valley. He is an excellent driver in whom I had complete confidence. This is important because the scenic road is fairly gnarly to drive. Anselmo is the consummate professional, who took an interest in us and answered all of our questions, without ever getting overly personal. We all learned so much about the region, port wine, and appreciated spending the day with a local guide who speaks impeccable English. Highly recommend spending!

Delightful Day in the Douro valley - Anselmo is knowledgeable, helpful, funny and kind. We took a tour of the Douro Valley and enjoyed it immensely. Sharing stories was like conversing with an old friend. Every question answered with the wisdom of an experienced guide who took pride in his country and career. His knowledge of the region and the cultivation of the grapes was fascinating and insightful.

An Excellent Walk Through the Douro Valley - My friends and I had the great fortune of taking a day-long tour of the Douro Valley with Anselmo a tour guide who was born and grew up in the area. In my estimation he is or should be viewed as an expert on his knowledge of the history of the valley and the exceptional wine produced within. Through the day he provided information on topics ranging from soil in the valley, to the wine making process, past and present, to the variation of barrels used, and the fermentation period that determined the types of wine. Ancelmo also provided insight on a variety of other topics and their impact on life within the valley and the wines produced. The tour was interspersed with stops and short walks so that you were close to soil, the grape vines and could walk among structures that had historical significance. His selection of the wineries,/estatesto visit, the wine tastings, and lunch location could not have been better. In short, this was a wonderful tour.

A MUST trip to the Douro Valley with Anselmo! - Anselmo was the perfect host/driver for a day trip to the Douro Valley. My husband and I had the absolute best day! Anselmo was incredibly knowledgeable about the wine and the valley. He provided an option to either do the river cruise or the scenic route at the start of our trip - we chose the scenic route and it did not disappoint as we were able to stop at a small town and tried a farmers port (which was delicious). We then stopped by two wineries (both had amazing views) - the first one a smaller producer where we had a fabulous lunch as well. The second one was a bit larger but with a great taste of port. I highly recommend you book a day trip with Anselmo if you are looking for a more private tour of the valley. Thank you, Anselmo!
