Thank you David and team! - Patient tour guide, variety of wine tastings, great views! The surprize of playing the accordian at the end was quite pleasant.

Beautiful Valley, OK tour - Douro Valley was absolutely beautiful, a must see! The tour itself was fine, but I dont think it offered anything unique. I think I'd rather rent a car and visit ourselves in the future.

Pros & Cons - Dear Reader- I’m going to provide you with the pros and cons of this tour so you can make an educated choice on how to proceed: Pros: -It’s a wonderful opportunity to get to such a special & stunning region without having to worry about driving yourself/renting a car/booking tastings at busy wineries. -Wineries we visited were beautiful & wine was delicious. View at first winery felt so special & unique -Lunch was very good-3 courses, coffee, after dinner port wine. Service was great! -Enjoyed the small group & opportunity to chat with and get to know other travelers Cons: -Our guide’s driving was truly insane. Gassing it around tight turns, turns that were throwing us into the side of the van, slamming on breaks, etc. The hills & mountains have very narrow roads that wind and continue to climb up and up with very low, small, or nonexistent guardrails. I frankly did not feel safe throughout that portion of the tour which is about half the day-my hands were sweating, I was truly very anxious.

There for the views. - Tour guide seemed disinterested and bored. Speaker in bus was muffled, so hearing was difficult. First winery was average. Second winery and boat tour were amazing. City tour at first stop was not needed.

- Gorgeous location, pleasant boat ride, good wine. Bus ride was too loud and nothing of value said by guide. Note that this tour is targeted to 20 somethings. Not for mature individuals looking for a calm, informational tour.

Bad food bad value - Deeply bad food and really average wine. Valley was stunning and guide very nice and knowledgeable, but the food was a head and shoulders so much worse than anything we have eaten anywhere else in Portugal (where the food is normally great). We had flavourless carrot soup defrosted frozen veggies, cold croquettes, and dry bread with no butter or oil etc and it was just terrible value for the 90 pounds we paid. Really disappointing experience.

Don't do this - Sadly this wasn't what we expected or enjoyed. We spent about 7 hours in a minibus with an erratic and dangerous driver blasting loud music. Despite skiing a few times to turn the music down he didn't. Very little commentary along the way. The few times he did speak we couldn't hear due to the music. He was also constantly on his phone choosing music whilst driving. This is dangerous if not illegal? We had one winery visit which was ok and decent tastings. The short cruise was ok but not a single bit of commentary. Surely someone of interest to tell us about? We drove to a remote restaurant which was Ok but the meal spoiled by flies. They said the fish dish was the culprit. Perhaps not offer fish? The wine pairings were good and restaurant staff apologetic and kind. Bottom line, stay in Porto, do the 6 Bridges cruise and splash out on fancy meals and port and you'll save a lot of money. Perhaps our driver was an exception rather than the rule but I would still avoid this tour.

Awful experience - We took the Winner 2025 Undiscovered Lisbon Food & Wine Tour on June 16, 2025, for our 11-year anniversary—and we were deeply disappointed. Our guide, David, barely spoke the entire time. He offered no meaningful orientation, context, or enthusiasm, and failed to engage the group or explain what we were eating or drinking. Multiple guests asked about the wines being served and received no answers. It felt like we were left to guide ourselves. Additionally, the bus was extremely hot with no functioning air conditioning, making it uncomfortable and frustrating. We expected a thoughtful, engaging experience and instead got something that felt disorganized, impersonal, and low-effort.

??? Confused, not at all what was expected and left extremely disappointed - Very confused by how many good reviews there are for this tour… we were left extremely disappointed. We managed to have a nice day, as we try to make the best of every situation, and the landscapes were beautiful, but the logistics of this tour are terrible.. First stop - some random little town with phallic pastries (and the backstory of a creepy Saint) as the sell and "the best coffee" which came from a 7-11 style instant coffee machine… ya kidding? Second stop - a truly beautiful winery that produces delicious port. We spent a total of 45 minutes at the venue, with a 20 minute brief "tour" that provided very little information about the vineyard or the production of port. We got to taste 3 (really yummy) types of port, and then were immediately rushed back to the bus. There wasn’t an opportunity to purchase any port.. is that not the whole point? Third stop - a boat tour along the Duoro river. The scenery was phenomenal, but it was just a boat ride.. there was no tour guide to provide more information on the landscape etc. Thought there might have been another wine on board but no.. Fourth and final stop - some random industrial "winery" where lunch was provided in what can only be described as an RSL room.. no vibes, no explanation of how the food was going to come out, if the food was specific to the area, or what the wine we were drinking was (which was frankly… terrible, but I respect that’s a personal preference). There was also no one else at the restaurant and the tour guide and driver sat at a seperate table instead of engaging with the group????? The food came out at light speed (and was supremely average, mass produced, buffet style) and there was no time to just enjoy the company. Once the last person had finished eating we were immediately rushed into a warehouse that had a couple of large barrels.. the guide there was wonderful and explained the process/history of the winery well.. but again there was NO time to look around / take photos.. again, it was INDUSTRIAL and not a winery at all - or at least there was no vineyard to be seen. We then had to get back on the bus for 2 hours to get back to Porto… surely the logistics could have been planned better to avoid such a long ride home (during which many people fell asleep, no doubt from the boredom of the day). I feel I’m writing this review on behalf of at like 70% of the other people on the tour with us (probably closer to 100% but the others were too kind to voice their opinion), who were also extremely dissatisfied. You would be better off booking a tour directly through a winery, which I imagine would be much more considered, informative and enjoyable. If I thought there was any chance of getting a partial refund, I would ask for one - total waste of money and not at all what was expected, based off the other reviews. 0/10 for the logistics and guide 10/10 for the scenery 10/10 for the port, 5/10 for the guide
