- Fairy Pools - Our first stop will take us to the world-famous Fairy Pools. We aim to get her earlier than the crowds so that you can have a more enjoyable experience. - Fairy Pools - Our first stop will take us to the world-famous Fairy Pools. We aim to get her earlier than the crowds so that you can have a more enjoyable experience. These crystal-clear rock pools are fed and connected by a series of waterfalls, originating from the nearby Black Cuillin Mountains. We will allow around 90 minutes to explore the fairy pools. The initial walk is up hill and of moderate intensity, so this part of the trip will not be suitable for those with mobility issues. It will take around 15-20 minutes to walk to the first of the fairy pools from the carpark. There are more pools to explore further up the path.
If you don’t feel that the fairy pool walk is for you, then our driver will take you to an alternative location not far away!
- Sligachan Old Bridge - Our next stop on the Isle of Skye will take us to an area filled with folklore and natural beauty. Wash your face in the magical water at Sligachan bridge or simply marvel at the imposing Cuillin Mountain Ridge behind. We will also show you some of the best angles for getting an unbelievable photo. (That’s if the misty isle doesn’t live up to its name and swallow the mountains!)
- Portree - Our next stop will be Portree where we will stop for lunch. We will aim to get to Portree around 12pm in an attempt to get lunch before the majority of the crowds descend! Our guide will give recommendations of where to go for lunch.
- The Old Man of Storr - After lunch we will visit one of Skye’s most iconic landmarks- The Old Man of Storr. The “Old Man” is a large pinnacle of rock that can be seen from miles around. We will stop at a great viewpoint and learn about some of the folklore of this impressive rock formation.
- Kilt Rock - Kilt Rock
As we head up the east coast of Skye, we will stop at the awe-inspiring Kilt Rock and Mealt falls. The magnificent 90 metre cliff resembles a traditional pleated kilt and is home to a spectacular waterfall fed by the nearby Mealt Loch. It really is a sight to behold!
- An Corran Beach - We will then visit An Corran beach and go hunting for the dinosaur footprints together! Please note we will time this stop with the tide in order to have the best chance of seeing the footprints!
- Quiraing - We will next visit the spectacular Quiraing. You will have time to walk a little way on the path so you can truly immerse yourself in the breath-taking landscape around you. The Quiraing is the result of a series of landslips that occurred over the last 15,000 years, including the largest mass movement slide in Britain, which covers more than three square miles and is still active. Our guide will give you background on this magical place and then give you time to experience it for yourself.
- St. Columba’s Isle - Our final stop will be the ancient burial site of St Columba’s Isle. This is the site of the Cathedral Church of the Bishops of the Isles from 1079 to 1498. Similarly Ancient is the Mortuary Chapel Nicolson’s Aisle, Where According to Tradition, Twenty Eight Chiefs of that Clan are Buried. While here we will also visit the “Cauldron of Heads”, the site of a major clan battle between the MacLeods and MacDonalds.

Our guides seethed integrity! - This is a small business, guided by the two women who own it. They encouraged questions, and eagerly answered with a wealth of knowledge. We took a full day trip, and definitely experience the highlights of the Portree area.
I appreciated that their small bus had a PA system, so there was never any strain hearing their narrative. Both contemporary and classical Scottish music was played, and the list was offered at the journey's end.
We were offered a generous variety of snacks throughout our trip, even a dram of whiskey!

Isle of Skye Fairy Pool - Our tour was fantastic! These ladies are so engaging and knowledgeable .. they were considerate of everyone’s needs. They added couple little side tours and extras that gave it a very personal touch. We would absolutely book with them again!!!

Seriously the best tour we've EVER been on! Make sure your phone/camera is fully charged because you'll use it a LOT! - Thank you for an EPIC adventure on the Isle of Skye! This was our (four adults) very favorite part of our 10-day trip through England and Scotland ... the van was comfortable, the snacks were plentiful, the history and stories were entertaining and informative, the sights were AMAZING, and the introduction to Scottish music was delightful. The sing-along to the Pretenders was everything! I've created a playlist on Spotify of all the songs you played to help us relive the experience now that we're home. Even though we had a little trouble finding the dinosaur footprints (because of the sand, not for a lack of trying!), the fact that you went out of your way to make sure we didn't leave without seeing some highland coos (which wasn't on the itinerary) was way above and beyond anything we expected. We showed up for the tour with high hopes for fun ... we left with more photos than we'll ever be able to organize, two amazing new friends, and full hearts :)

Incredible! - Michelle and Finella were amazing hosts, guides and now friends we've made along the way.
Michelle, thanks for a superb job driving. So glad to have found a distant cousin in the Campbell clan!
Finella, thank you for sharing the Scottish history and mixing in bagpipes tunes with an occasional sing along.
You both made the day an incredible experience to be cherished and remembered often. May our paths cross again down the road to laugh again.

Best day on Skye with great all-round experience - The two ladies who were our tour guides were so extremely friendly, warm and open-minded that we would have liked to have been on the road with them even longer. There was a happy, joyful and funny mood throughout the day.
Between the stops, national music was played, to which something was also told or which matched the stops. Our group both sang along boisterously together and simply enjoyed the selection silently. In addition, many interesting historical events were conveyed, legends were told about some stops and a lot was reported about island life.
There was also water and typical Scottish snacks to try and although the minibus does not have a toilet, there are ample opportunities to visit one.
We thoroughly enjoyed the tour, both the magical stops where you wouldn’t necessarily have had some on your screen and the atmosphere the guides created.
At the stops there was enough time to get a nice overview and at the request of our group we even stopped briefly at a few highland cattle we passed.
Big praise and a thousand thanks for the beautiful day.

Isle of sky - All visited sites were beautiful. Fairy pool walk awesome. Found dinosaur prints. St Columba cemetery unique. No shortage of falls and rocks. Our guides were wonderful

Best day in Skye! - We traveled to Skye as a party of 4 on our 9 day trip through Scotland. We only had 2 nights in Skye (meaning one full day) and we wanted to make the most of it. We rented cars and drove up from Edinburgh to get there and while driving to all the sights on our own was an option I wanted a tour that would make it a little bit easier for all of us. While driving it is hard to see all the dramatic, beautiful views of the mountains and I had read that some of the roads were a little difficult to navigate. So, when I found this tour I was very excited. We got to see the Fairy Pools, Old Silgachan Bridge, had lunch in Portree (very much enjoyed Relish Cafe - the seasoned French fries were really great), Bridal Veil Falls, views of Old Man Storr, Kilt Rock, An Corran Beach (spotted fossilized dinosaur prints!), Quiraing and St. Columba’s Isle. The tour lasted 8 hours (9am to 5pm).
Our tour guide (Finella aka Fin) and driver (Michelle) were absolutely amazing. We later found out they were the owners and operators of the company who started doing tours last year after a lot of hard work to get all of their permits and certifications. Along the route we got history about the area but not an overwhelming amount of information. They played traditional (older and more modern) Scottish songs which were really fun to listen to and made the driving portions really enjoyable - as if the views weren’t enough. We saw lots of sheep crossing the road and on the hillsides and it also helped the weather although predicted to be cloudy and rainy all day turned out to be beautiful with even some sun and great visibility.
The tour was not fully booked although it said up to 12 passengers we went the end of September so it was a bit off season and only had 2 other people in the tour so we made good time. Rather than ending the tour early we stopped at a local waterfall that wasn’t on the schedule. We would HIGHLY recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see all the highlights of the island in one day and doesn’t want to worry about driving, parking and wants to learn a little more about the history of the island. The only thing we are disappointed about is that I did not know about Tartan Trailblazer Tours and booked a half day trip in Inverness with a different company, now knowing they are based out of Inverness I would have definitely booked with them if possible. The upcoming tour will have a lot to live up to!

Great tour - We had a fabulous tour with our guides, Fin and Michelle. They were full of knowledge about Skye and it's history. We visited several of the attractions Skye has to offer with a chance for lunch in Portree. Excellent driving skills from Michelle. We had a great day

Absolutely fantastic tour with fantastic guides. - I took my Gran on this tour and Wow, it was such a great day out exploring the most beautiful places on Skye. The tour guides, Fin and Michelle were absolutely brilliant and so accommodating, they went above and beyond to ensure everyone had the best day. Their knowledge and history of the areas and more was just so fascinating to learn about, as well as many laughs had, and great Scottish music played too, such a great touch to a great tour. I highly recommend this tour of Skye. I will definitely book another one of their tours of the Highlands again🙌
