- 25 de Abril Bridge - This iconic red bridge, formerly known as Salazar Bridge, was named after the Portuguese president-dictator who commissioned its construction in 1958. On April 25, 1974, a revolution occurred to overthrow the regime, and the bridge was renamed to commemorate and celebrate the regime’s downfall.
