The plan includes a 9 km (4.6 miles) hike leading to 10 stunning natural pools nestled in the park’s core. The hike is split into two segments: 4.5 km (2.3 miles) from the starting point to the pools, where there will be a one-hour break to swim in the beautiful natural pools (with the option to extend the stay if desired), followed by a 4.5 km (2.3 miles) return to the starting point. The trail features uneven terrain but lacks steep inclines.
For lunch, participants should bring their own meals and plenty of water, as temperatures may be high.
The hike can be classified as follows:
- Difficult: For those not accustomed to walking at least 10 km in urban settings.
- Medium: For those familiar with hiking 10 km in rural areas.
- Easy: For those experienced in hiking over 10 km on uneven terrain with steep slopes.
After the hike, there will be an opportunity to visit a local tavern for a refreshing drink and some relaxation before heading back to Porto.

Once we arrive at Gerês National Park, we’ll explore the park to see its most stunning spots, including breathtaking waterfalls and viewpoints. We’ll also take a short walk to truly connect with nature and breathe in the fresh air.
During our trip, we’ll have the opportunity to visit Gerês Village, famous for its thermal waters, where we can enjoy some snacks (not included) and relax for a bit.
We expect to return to Porto around 6:30 PM.
